About the adventure
🎪 Beginner and LGBTQ friendly. 🎠Free session 0. 🤹‍♂️ Level 1-10 adventure for D&D 5.5 (2024 edition). ✨ Set in the Feywild with additional combat encounters and lore. You were a child when you visited the Witchlight Carnival for the first time. You enjoyed all the wondrous sights, fantastical rides, and delicious treats the likes you've never experienced before. Yet, when you returned to your mundane world you did not return whole. Something was stolen from you. Something that has left a gaping hole in your heart that cannot be filled. As the years have passed, you’ve met others who, like yourself, are not quite whole. Others who have had something vital stolen from them at the Witchlight Carnival. Now, it’s time for you and your companions to return and reclaim what was stolen. Will you save a fracturing Feywild in the process? Only time will tell. Basic understanding of the rules is helpful, but not required. I have years of experience teaching new players, so beginners are always welcome. No downloads are required, but you will need accounts on Discord and DnD Beyond: • Discord: https://discord.com • DnD Beyond: https://www.dndbeyond.com/

About me
Hello, adventurers! I have been playing various TTRPGs for around 15 years now. I started my Dungeon Master journey through running games in after school support clubs for teens and tweens. This means I have a lot of experience teaching new players and rolling with absolutely unhinged story lines. However, I've been embroiled in the D&D universe from a tender young age starting with various video games, like the original Baldur's Gate, and following Drizzt's journey in the Forgotten Realms novels. Imagine my surprise when I got invited to my first D&D game in my 20s and realized I already knew the lore! All my games are LGBTQ+ friendly. I always strive to create a table that is a safe and welcoming.

Creating your character
Your character begins with the following motivation: You travel with your companions to seek what was stolen from you many years ago in the Witchlight Carnival. We will build characters together during session 0, so if you don't understand the following guidelines, don't worry! I'll walk you through the process. • Characters begin at first level and will be using milestone leveling. • Choose a neutral or good-aligned character. • 2024 rules for character creation. • 2014 sub-classes, races, and backgrounds that aren’t listed in 2024 source books available with DM approval. • No Unearthed Arcana or Strixhaven content. • Point buy or rolled group standard array. • It is better to spend on starting equipment than to keep gold in your purse for this adventure. • Feywild Gifts: Choose a Feywild Gift (available on discord) to better tie your character into the story, and get some unique abilities.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
• You will need a computer (we will be using Foundry which doesn't play well on tablets or phones). • Microphone for voice chat. • Free Discord account. I will message with the discord server link upon game approval. • Free DnD Beyond account. • Webcam is optional, but encouraged for better roleplay.
What Laz brings to the table
My DM style: I focus on cinematic storytelling over strict rules as written. I enjoy incorporating my player's backstories into the overall narrative and will be providing Feywild Gifts to better tie characters into the story. I like to challenge my players with tactical combat and interesting mechanics. What I provide: • Beginner-friendly and safe environment. • D&D Source books shared through DnD Beyond. • Additional 3rd party source book for new and unique fey-themed subclasses. • Collaborative character building with backstories woven into the adventure. • Foundry VTT with animated spells, weather effects, beautiful maps, and token art. • Voice acting for NPCs (I am not a professional voice actor, but I have fun!). • Curated playlists to match the ambiance of the game. • Community Discord server for voice chat and chatting with other players between sessions. • I will be using a Webcam to better portray characters. However, webcam is optional for players. My goal is to provide a fun and safe environment where your choices matter and your character plays a pivotal role in the story.
Homebrew rules
• Crits: max + die roll. (do max damage plus a normal damage roll. For example, if your sword does 1d8 and you crit, you do 8 + 1d8). • Flanking: +2 to attack rolls. • Health Potions: Bonus action to drink, action to feed it to another person. • Death Saves: Rolled privately to DM only. • Spell Components: must have when spell has an associated gold cost of 100gp or more, or component has a time limit. • Ammunition: non-magical ammunition is treated as unlimited.

How Laz creates a safe table
Session 0 is free. During session 0 we will go over lines and veils (hard-nos and fade-to-black topics). We will also cover table expectations and boundaries. Within Foundry X, N, and O cards are available throughout play and will be sent to the DM only. I end every session asking for any comments, concerns or feedback which can be done privately in the whispers channel if you don't feel comfortable raising concerns in a group setting.
