About me

Hi! My name is Ivandro, I’m 35 years old and based in Portugal. I’ve always been passionate about creating games, puzzles, and stories, and I’ve built my professional life around interactive experiences. I studied Game Design and I’m currently studying Computer Engineering, and I also own and run a local escape room in Nazaré. Designing engaging challenges, meaningful choices, and immersive narratives is at the core of everything I do. I’ve been a Dungeon Master for about 7 years, during which I’ve run dozens of campaigns and one-shots. While I’ve hosted some games in person, most of my experience is online, primarily using Foundry VTT. I run both original homebrew campaigns and written adventures, with a special appreciation for classic modules. I’ve been a Dungeon Master since I first started playing tabletop RPGs, and while I’ve played as a character once or twice, I truly feel at my best behind the screen. I also manage a small but welcoming Discord community, where we regularly play campaigns and one-shots and frequently welcome new players.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created together during the first session using Foundry VTT, with full step-by-step guidance from the DM for anyone who needs help. Stats will be decided using point buy, and all characters will start at level 1. We will be using D&D 5e (2024 books), and players should refer only to official material from those books.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will only need to join my Discord server and access Foundry VTT via a link provided, using their own browser. Players are welcome to bring any image they choose to represent their character, which we will use to create their token during character creation. A stable internet connection and a clear microphone should be set up before the session to ensure the best experience.

What Scylla brings to the table

I focus on creating great stories, challenging and interactive combats, puzzles, and memorable encounters. I do some character voices to enhance immersion, but my strength is crafting epic, engaging campaigns rather than acting. I generally follow the rules as written to keep the game consistent and fair, but I won’t let rules slow down epic moments or the flow of play — especially for new players. Players will have access to all the books, tactical maps, and Foundry VTT with ambient music, and I guide everyone step-by-step through rules, character creation, and gameplay. By the end of the campaign, players will finish as confident, capable D&D adventurers.

Homebrew rules

Most of my homebrew rules have actually been incorporated into the D&D 2024 official rules, so we mostly play by the book. I’ve also designed traveling challenges that give players a variety of rolls during their journeys, making travel sections more engaging, interactive, and enjoyable.

Safety

How Scylla creates a safe table

During the first session, we will discuss any themes players are sensitive to or prefer to avoid, so the campaign can be planned accordingly. Additionally, players will have the option to type “X” in the Foundry chat, which is visible only to the DM, allowing them to privately signal discomfort at any time.
