About the adventure

Welcoming brand new players and experienced pilots alike to this introductory module for Lancer! Operation Solstice Rain, written by Kai Tave, is where many people begin their journey together as pilots in the world of Lancer, one of the most notorious and memorable experiences. Nobody forgets their first time, or if you're a returning Lancer player looking to give your pilot a trial by fire, this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. The module serves as a great introduction to the more tactical style combat Lancer provides, while also giving a compelling narrative and story for players to become involved with. For many, this is where your dream mech roleplaying experience begins! Just remember pilots, there are only two rules on the battlefield: 1.) Fight no matter what. 2.) Nobody gets left behind.

About me

Hi there! My name is Avery and I've been GMing various tabletop roleplaying games for going on a decade now, and have experience with numerous systems, including: -D&D 5th Edition -D&D 3.5 -Pathfinder 1st Edition/2nd Edition -Lancer -Call of Cthulu -Many, many various indie TTRPGs When GMing, I try to tailor the experience to the table and my players specifically, getting a feel for whether they are more interested in the roleplaying aspects, gameplay aspects, or some happy medium between them - I also tend to have a flare for the dramatic, and love to keep my players guessing.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will create LL0 Pilots utilizing the official Lancer companion tool COMP/CON (https://compcon.app) - A session 0 will take place to ensure everyone has created their characters and feels they understand the rules well enough to begin playing. I will provide any assistance with character creation or answer any questions about the system via DM or Discord Server.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need to make an account on the official Lancer companion app (https://compcon.app/#/), which is where characters will be created and later imported into Foundry VTT. A discord server will be created so all the players can communicate and create their pilots/squad together.

What Avery brings to the table

A passion for making your dream mech/pilot fantasy come to life! Lancer serves as a sort of melting pot for all things mecha, and I would love to help you create a character (and their mech) that flavorfully and mechanically represents your idea of cool/fun! High Stakes, strategical combat comes with the system, and naturally I bring music and numerous QoL tools that help make the whole experience seamless. I also try very hard to incorporate character backstory into the main narrative, keeping in mind their motivations and what drives both the player and the character. Immersion is one of the things I strive for, and I can promise a challenging and rewarding experience to all my players.

Homebrew rules

Lancer is a system that is often vague about important rules, and descriptive about relatively unimportant rules - For the most part, I will simply try to translate the intent behind the rules faithfully. That being said, if a homebrew rule or mechanic does come about, I will try to implement it in a seamless way, especially if it aids in someone achieving their character fantasy.

Safety

How Avery creates a safe table

At any point, if the content of one of my campaigns is making a player expressly uncomfortable they may message me or simply speak up and we will navigate around or away from such topics immediately. Prior to the campaign, I will outline all the potentially triggering or disturbing content contained within, and will write around any hazard areas like that to ensure everyone feels included.
