About the adventure

Set in a war-torn land where old alliances are barely remembered and new friends are hard to trust, the players are a rag-tag group of survivors attempting to mend the ties of the nation and unravel a plot that would seal its fate. Explore a sandbox dark world with never before seen eras of history, lore, books, races and factions and locations. The structure of the world itself seems unstable and something seeps trough the cracks. Akkra is a low-magic setting with spellcasters being prosecuted by a zealous religious order. Its rulers and leaders are few, untrusting and have a guarded approach to outsiders. What’s left of the Kingdom suffers, its borders crumble and outside invasion is only a matter of time. While there is a main plot laid out, and quite a few ready adventures within Akkra, just begging to be stumbled over and followed, Akkra is also built up from the ground to be a completely Free roam Sandbox where the players can do just about anything they want, and of course, suffer the consequences. ----------- Hook & World Map https://imgur.com/a/akkra-phaselands-hook-map-nPQD9w4 ----------- This is an intro to D&D (5e2024) and Foundry VTT, with focus on teaching brand new players the system. That does not mean Veterans of the hobby are unwelcome, quite the opposite! Just temper your expectations accordingly, if there are new players in our midst! Ask as many questions as you can and enjoy Fully animated and interactive battlemaps as well as sound and visual effects (and everything else Foundry has to offer). These will be available whenever possible. Consider this style of game "cooperative story telling" with a lot of focus on characters surviving in an unforgiving everchanging world. There will be an even split between combat and roleplay. ----------- Homebrew: Potentially allowed, but must be discussed beforehand. (5e 2014 Content is allowed (even preferred), but not officially supported)

About me

Chill, Mature & Story focused. Hi! I'be been running campaigns in a custom setting for a while now, and I'd love to introduce unsuspecting players to what has become known as Akkra: The Phaselands. Message me for a link to my discord!

Character creation

Creating your character

Level 1 characters, created after Session 0, where we discuss the possible limitations of the setting, and player/DM preferences. The characters will be audited and we can work on them together before Session 1.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Microphone only. Knowledge of how your character works, and basic understanding of the rules system is most welcome. Character creation will be discussed in Session 0. (It helps if the microphone is of good quality and if the internet connection is stable.)

What Murfle brings to the table

This is a digital FoundryVTT game.

Homebrew rules

There are many homebrew rules that have to do with the scarcity and prosecution of Magic in Akkra: The Phaselands. Survival should not be easy and torches and food are expensive, while spells such as Goodberry and Create Water have been tweaked. Overworld travel very much exists and is there to provide a challenge, while also immersing the players into the world with its random events. The events are not "You fight 1d6 wolves", but rather NPCs, travelers, and happenings that help tie the world into a coherent believable place, and server to spice up the adventure. I also allow 2014 and 2024 characters to party up together, but am strict about picking and choosing parts of kits from the different rulesets.
