About the adventure

This is Marvel Multiverse RPG. The campaign is set in the 80s. Each of the players are new students at Professor Xavier's school for the Gifted. You will make original characters, starting at Rank 1 and working your way to Rank 5 to become some of the most powerful members of the X-men. There is certainly a lot action, but we will also make time for slice of life roleplaying as a student with teachers such as Wolverine, Storm, and Beast.

About me

I first rolled a d20 in the 1980s with AD&D and have been devoted to tabletop storytelling ever since. No other medium captures the combination of imagination, collaboration, and discovery that TTRPGs create. The friendships formed around those tables and the memories that came from them have stayed with me for decades, and a big part of why I run games is the desire to pass that experience on to others. My strongest influences come from the Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance, along with the quiet power and depth of A Wizard of Earthsea, which remains my favorite fantasy story. I bring a lifelong love of these worlds to everything I do with tabletop roleplaying. I hold a degree in Creative Writing and have won several awards for my fiction, and I draw on that training whenever I build settings or shape narrative threads. I also have extensive experience in theater acting and production, which has helped me understand pacing, presence, and how to keep collaborative storytelling engaging for everyone at the table.

Character creation

Creating your character

Before the campaigns starts we will coordinate on Discord, and also have a free Session Zero to ensure safety and standards for the campaign. I have the main books for Marvel Multiverse and also the X-men expansion with additional rules for things like team reputation.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

After we connect on Discord, I will start working with you to build a character inside Roll20. I also have some private Youtube tutorials that will help you learn the system enough to start playing.

What Immovable Rod brings to the table

I love the comics, but will not be strict about following what happened there. It's the Multiverse after all! But passion for Marvel, and the X-men in particular will shine through. I put the priority on having fun, making sure everyone gets a spotlight in every session, interesting combat, and satisfying roleplaying moments.

Homebrew rules

I'll stick to the rules in the book, but may override them if the group agrees.

Safety

How Immovable Rod creates a safe table

I have no tolerance for intolerance, and will ensure a safe table for everyone. As far as content, I aim for PG13 and do not enjoy sensitive real world topics at my tables. Every group is different so before or during, players are encouraged to let me know their specific needs so I can properly acommodate.
