About the adventure
As an group of new adventurers you are looking to take any gig you can find. After weeks of searching you find one! You are hired by Artum Gresit-Hughes to help guard and set up the town's annual Winterfest banquet. This feast has been going on for over ten years and never has had an issue, so this will be a piece of cake, or pudding.

About me
Hi, I’m Joe! I’ve been playing D&D for over seven years and have spent several of those as a Dungeon Master. I specialize in welcoming and onboarding new players, something I’ve been doing for several years now. I work with Baldman Games, the organization partnered with Wizards of the Coast to run official D&D games at conventions. Through this work, I regularly run Learn to Play sessions and help brand new players get comfortable with the rules, mechanics, and flow of the game. Outside of convention play, I also run my own Learn to Play games in my own time. In these sessions, I intentionally balance new and experienced players at the same table, creating an environment where beginners can learn at their own pace while veteran players stay engaged and supportive. I’ve also run several long term campaigns that have each spanned over two years, successfully maintaining player commitment, character growth, and ongoing story arcs over extended periods of time. Tabletop RPGs are an incredible hobby that many more people would enjoy if given the opportunity, they can just be difficult to get into at first. My goal is to help bridge that gap by making D&D approachable, welcoming, and fun, and to introduce more people to this amazing hobby.

Creating your character
We will be using level 1 characters using the 2024 rules. To get your character you have a few options: * Use a pre-made character that I will provide you * We can sit down in a quick 30 min session and I can walk you through one. Alternatively you can just tell me what you want and I can make one real quick. *If you know what you're doing you can make your own using any official 2024 wizards content.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Nothing is required a head of time, however if you are rearing to go, a free DND Beyond account can be used to make characters (with limited options).
What Joe Kehoe brings to the table
DND, and any roleplaying game can be overwhelming to say the least to get into. That's where this game will come in. I specialize in helping new players get their first experience into this wonderful hobby. Everything will be provided for you (or I'll help you make it), all you need to start is you (and your imagination, that would be helpful too)!

How Joe Kehoe creates a safe table
Before the game I will send a link to the Deck of Player safety, a toll that allows players to anonymously signal any topics they want to avoid during a session. The VTT we will be using has an X, N, & O system built right in. If at any point you feel uncomfortable you just hit a button and a light will flash letting everyone know to take a break (and it's completely anonymous) And of course with us using discord, you can DM me at any point.
