About me

While I was looking for an activity to spend time with my family, especially my 2 sons, that was away from electronics we stumbled upon this wonderful new hobby of TTRPGs. Initially the rules seemed intimidating but, with a bit of research and some helpful advice I began writing my own Homebrew adventures and now I'm hooked on writing, reading and adapting stories for groups. Typically, I DM for groups of 4-6 in person but I would like to expand this to include online resources. My passion is for families and relationships to grow through overcoming challenges and learning to communicate through collective storytelling and common interests. I know that building that bond with kids can be difficult for parents and my hope is to foster an easy, fun and exciting way to strengthen a family bond, and make new friends along the adventure. All are welcome to join, however, to encourage those whom I have a passion for teaching, my intent is to provide **FREE GM SERVICES** IF YOU MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PREREQUISITES - FULL HOUSEHOLD FAMILY UNIT (EX. HUSBAND, WIFE & CHILDREN; MARRIED COUPLES) - FOSTER PARENTS/CHILDREN (IT TAKES A SPECIAL PERSON TO WELCOME PEOPLE INTO THEIR HOMES AND PROVIDE CARE. THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!) - UNIFORMED SERVICES IN THE US (POLICE, MILITARY, FIRE, EMS ETC.) - PLAY TESTERS FOR MY OWN HOMEBREW MATERIALS Prices for those who meet a prerequisite will have their GM fee waved at event start time. Honor system here. I do not do this for the money but ask that my time is respected. Thank you!!

Character creation

Creating your character

Players are encouraged to use pregenerated characters during this adventure to make sure that the game is the focus of this one shot adventure. Most playstyles are represented in the selection of characters to choose from to encourage players to emphasize fun over details. If however, you have a specific character in mind that is not found or would like an adaptation to be made to one of the pre-generated characters please send Still a message at least 2 hours before the start time to ensure the session starts at the scheduled time. Reasonable accomadations can be made at the GMs discretion. This is a level-1 adventure aimed at giving new players an experience of a DnD style game in a short and affordable trial.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Discord recommended. Other forms of video and or audio available are Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams. Group meeting locations may vary depending on preference or players present.

What Still brings to the table

This one-shot adventure puts the focus on trying to introduce new players to DnD for the first time. If you are currently playing DnD but would like to bring your friend along to try the game, again this is for you. The story as written contains samples of fights, exploration, questing, NPCs and opportunities for role playing. The adventure will end at the 3 hour mark so each session will be adapted to ensure that regardless of player styles there will be room for all of these in some form. The rules will be loose to encourage fun and teamwork over rules and details as there will be much more time for those during a longer adventure.

Homebrew rules

The GM is meant to serve as a referee between the game and the players. It is literally his job to foster an environment that allows the players to organically have fun. As such, any rules may be adapted at the GMs discretion to ensure that the players get a chance to experience a full session. Any rules that may need additional information or explanation can be discussed in greater detail with the GM at his earliest convenience after the session.
