About the adventure

A terrible death curse is sweeping across the world, and time is running out. Clerics can no longer bring back the dead, and those who were resurrected in the past are slowly withering away. All signs point to the distant jungles of Chult, where an ancient artifact known as the Soulmonger is consuming the souls of the departed. The world is on a countdown, and if the curse isn’t stopped, everything ends. Also yes, dinosaur races exist and they are exactly as fun as they sound. Tomb of Annihilation is a vibrant, dangerous, exploration-focused campaign set in a land of lost ruins, undead horrors, jungle survival, and mysterious factions. Players must chart their own path through the wilderness, uncover clues, survive the deadly terrain, and ultimately confront the source of the curse. Exploration is open and player-driven, with plenty of secrets, treasures, and surprises to discover along the way. I have run this campaign from start to finish twice, and it remains one of my favourites. It has everything that makes D&D unforgettable: mystery, danger, humour, and big dramatic moments. I hope you join me as we dive into another journey together and carve a new legend out of the jungle.

About me

Hello adventurers, I’m Ted! I am a full-time professional Dungeon Master with over 1000 sessions of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition experience. I began running games professionally in 2021, but my love for tabletop roleplaying started long before that around real tables with close friends. That sense of camaraderie, immersion, and shared storytelling is something I strive to bring into every campaign I run online. I specialize in long-term, character-driven adventures where player choices matter and the world reacts naturally to the party’s actions. Whether you’re exploring cursed lands, navigating political intrigue, or facing impossible moral decisions, I aim to make every session feel memorable and emotionally engaging. Being Greek born and raised has also given me an unexpected advantage as a DM: my NPCs naturally carry the flavor and atmosphere of old-world fantasy settings, especially in darker and gothic campaigns such as Curse of Strahd. I primarily run official Wizards of the Coast adventures, though I’m always open to preparing additional material or custom experiences for dedicated groups. Above all else, I value consistency, communication, and creating a table where players feel comfortable investing in both their characters and the story. My goal is not simply to run a game, but to build a campaign players genuinely look forward to every week. I would be honored to guide your next adventure.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will start from level 1 and progress to level 10 in the span of this campaign. Each player should have a general idea of what character they'd like to play and then we will make the concept a reality together. Characters will be created at Session 0 or at a later time if someone is on a tight schedule. Due to the fact that this campaign contains puzzles and areas that can be completely bypassed by flying creatures, flying races & the Dhampir are banned. The Goodberry and Create Food & Water spells will be up to discussion for joining the banlist. They can negate the aspect of searching for food or preparing rations, so we will decide together on Session 0 if they will be included in the campaign.

The current party

The party composition is Ranger, Paladin and Barbarian. They are level 4 and we are doing XP leveling.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All players need to have a working mic and a stable internet connection. Webcam is not necessary but always appreciated (it's nice to see the faces of the people you're talking to). Everyone should have a basic understanding of the rules, of course they will be assisted if they don't remember something. Roll20 as well as Discord account are necessary. Finally, players will need a Syrinscape Online account, where I will be streaming music and ambience sounds from.

What Ted the Dungeon Master | 1000+ Sessions Hosted brings to the table

I have a Pro account on Roll20, as well as all core rulebooks that I can share with my players. I am very proficient with scripts and macros on Roll20 that speed up combat a ton. Music and ambience will be streamed from Syrinscape Online since Discord music bots are not optimal.

Safety

How Ted the Dungeon Master | 1000+ Sessions Hosted creates a safe table

We will use the "Pause, Resume, X" cards as macros on Roll20 in order to assure everyones safety. I also have my series of "Lines, Veils & Rules" posted on my Discord server. All players are required to read them first and then send me a message there to ask for any clarifications.
