About the adventure
You read that right. The famed mega dungeon has fallen into a state of disrepair. Who knows what the owner is doing, but one of his lackeys has had enough. This dungeon is a disgrace and any monster within it should be ashamed of themselves. Thankfully, this minion had the sense to call you and your team of “world-renowned” cleaners to sort this **** out. Rumour has it that adventurers are coming from all over the world to conquer the dungeon and its treasures, and that won’t do, that won’t do at all! At this rate, they’ll mop up (pun intended) all 23 floors in a matter of regularly scheduled hours. So, it’s up to you to turn this dungeon around. Make sure the monsters are up to scratch, the traps are armed and deadly, and that there isn’t a single speck of dust out of place. Plus if you do a good job I’m sure the boss won’t realise if a few pieces of loot go missing… This is a comedic more roleplay heavy twist on the classic Dungeon of the Mad Mage. 🎲 Level 5-20 👹 Any species (including monster species) & any official class 🧹 A fun change of pace to the traditional dungeon crawl 🧼 2024 rules (open to exceptions!) 🤩 Free Session 0

Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm Katy, your guide through the dying realms, the smoke-choked cities, and the fractured dreams of worlds where gods have fallen and power comes at a price. I’m a 33-year-old GM with 5+ years of experience running and playing Dungeons & Dragons. Throughout the highs and lows, lockdown life, and the ultimate battle with cancer, DND has been my consistent escape from life and being a GM means I can share that glorious escapism with you. I have seen player characters fall in love, achieve godhood, break worlds and face their worst nightmares. Through the laughter, the tears and the chaos, we forge memories to last a lifetime and characters that mean the world to you. In my games, your backstory is fuel for the world whether you give me a 5 page word document or an amnesia story. If you’re looking for a world where every choice cuts deep and no path is truly clean, you’ve found it. My games thrive on tension, consequence, and characters shaped by what they survive...or don’t. No easy answers. No perfect heroes. Just you, your flaws, and the story you carve into the world. If this sounds like your kind of thing, you might have just found your Forever GM.

Creating your character
We will have a session 0 during which we will roll for stats in Roll20 so it's visible to everyone. You can roll twice and pick which one you want, stat rolls can be applied in any order. We'll use the method of rolling 4d6, dropping the lowest number and rerolling 1s. Don't worry, you just need to copy and paste a formula into the Roll20 chat and it does the rest for you. We'll then create characters in D&DBeyond, entering in rolled stats from Roll20 manually. Any official content can be used (including monster species!), no homebrew classes. We'll have a chat as a group about what classes we want to go and any backstory you want to share.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need access to a PC/Laptop with internet, a microphone, webcam is optional. Please make sure you've got a Discord account, Roll20 account, D&D Beyond account (don't worry you don't need to pay for any of these, you can use them for free, subs are optional if you want extra stuff), and have the Beyond20 browser extension installed, this allows you to roll directly from your character sheet in D&DBeyond and it gets sent to the Roll20 VTT. Links to the Roll20 & D&DBeyond Campaign as well as the Discord will be provided upon sign up. Beyond20 Download: https://beyond20.here-for-more.info/install.html
What Katy brings to the table
This game should be full of laughs and silliness, we will embrace the weird and wonderful! If you want to try something bold, creative, badass or just outright strange - ask! I love rule of cool when it adds to the story. Expect silly voices, bizarre NPCs, ridiculous roleplay, challenging combat with unusual goals, traps, treasures and puzzles. You’ll also get: 🗺️ Huge traditional style maps (we shall use theatre of the mind to transform these into epic levels of this out of order dungeon!) 😂 A comedic, more roleplay focused twist on the classic dungeon crawl 💬 A dedicated Discord server (notes, memes, art, rp, quote wall) 🤦♀️ A game where every pun, every GIF, every dad joke will be welcome!
Homebrew rules
Critical fails and successes should feel epic - crit attacks deal max damage + another roll, you hit big, I want it to feel that way (enemies included!) Likewise if you fail, something not so good is probably going to happen! You can suggest an alternative ability check if you can justify it, for example athletics instead of intimidation, you won't know if you don't ask. Drinking a potion as an action gives you the max hp possible from it, drinking it as a bonus actions means you have to roll for it. You can cast more than one spell in a turn as long as one is a bonus action, e.g. Cure Wounds and Spiritual Weapon. Flanking rules, allies must be at opposite sides of an enemy for flanking to apply, flanking gives advantage. Getting a nat20 on a saving throw means you take no damage and you can pick one person close to you to give them an assist. If you think there's a reason you should have advantage on something, let me know and you might get it. Rule of Cool! If you want to try and make your greatsword into a giant skewer of goblins fondly referred to as a keboblin or some other crazy feat, please ask, we shall embrace the fun! (the GM can't be held responsible for any food poisoning that may occur to your characters if you try to eat the keboblin)

How Katy creates a safe table
We will hold a session 0 to go over the kind of things that may crop up in this campaign and make sure that everyone remains happy and comfortable during the games. I have an open door policy, if anyone needs to take a break at any point they are welcome to. We'll also take a breather at the end of the session where above table chat is welcome to chill out and return to the real world. This is a comedy campaign which will be more roleplay focussed than your typical dungeon crawl, but there still could be some blood-shed and violence occur, we'll make sure to cover that in the session 0 and if at any time anyone wants to mention something that makes them uncomfortable, my inbox is always open!
