About the adventure

The game is set in 1983, so one of the more rare Call of Cthulhu modern era scenarios. This is a short introductory scenario to the world of Call of Cthulhu, and thus, it is a horror scenario. Players new to the system are welcome and will have guidance and support throughout! Prepare for some intense investigation, speckled with moments of horror and a little tiny bit of combat. This is a published scenario, and a pretty recent one that leads into a larger modern era campaign and I'm willing to expand from this one scenario if interest were to arrise.

About me

I'm a passionate forever DM who enjoys telling stories, improvising, and laughing out loud. I mostly played with my friends, slowly bringing in new people. In my personal life I'm caught up in finishing Masks of Nyarlathotep.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

- Free Discord account: https://discord.com - Free Roll20 account: https://roll20.net - Computer/Laptop (Tablet might work) - Webcam (optional but encouraged) - Microphone

What Paul brings to the table

- Character sheets will be provided - We will use optional ambient music - The game has a number of handouts and pictures which will be shared as the game progresses - The rest will be filled in by theatre of the mind - I like using the Rule of Cool but I'm happy to be challenged on RaW as well - I try doing character voices but I'm happy not to if people start complaining

Homebrew rules

I sometimes use rules form Delta Green and Pulp Cthulhu where it makes sense to me or if I like that flavour of the rules better. I'm open to the Rule of Cool and it's most important to me that we tell a compelling story together!

Safety

How Paul creates a safe table

When we convene for the session, before we start we will have the chance to select our lines and veils anonymously. At any time during the game, if it's too much, you can let me know and we can dial back the horror or hide stuff behind the curtain.
