About the adventure
The game is meant for people who enjoy The Magicians, Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, but who have grown up and desire a deeper and darker look. Think of graduating from modern fairytales to their classic counterparts. As a serious game and setting, this is meant for players that crave deep roleplaying, and the use of theater of the mind to push themselves into the experience with the magic of their very own imagination. Despite this, as you'd be starting as a newcomer to this world, the campaign will be very beginner friendly! The setting for this campaign is a mysterious and rather hostile magical world that needs hope to be reintroduced. Heroes are desperately scarce in this dark age, and the players must be the foreigners that find out how beautiful things could be, in order to be the ones who save or condemn the world even further. There is joy and whimsy to be found by the very nature of magic, fae and myth, but a dark force attempts to take it all away for nefarious purposes. Heavy topics, as mentioned in the listing, will be dealt with, but up to player discretion and previous talks using safety tools, their presence in the story can be decreased and the depictions softened. If you are a player that has trouble dealing with heavy topics, I suggest you seek another campaign for self-care reasons. My intention is never to purposefully trigger anyone or be edgy for no reason, but as a psychologist I wish to explore these topics and see how characters change and deal with them.

About me
I'm a 23 year old player that's been playing for over half their lifetime! I started playing when I was 10 years old back when my father designed a simple TTRPG system for me to enjoy and spend time together. Ever since, I fell in love with the hobby and introduced many players into homebrew systems and even got them to read and play actual systems after several years of gaming. I focus heavily on informed improvisation and adjusting to my player's wishes, as well as introducing them into the narrative both by their backstory or the future events being related to themes and character arcs. I used to dislike D&D but after having an actually good experience (which took a while, since I had several poor ones before) I started to DM for the most popular system and learnt how to love it. We're definitely in a toxic relationship.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen via Discord previous to the campaign, as will the homebrew rule explanations. A minimum knowledge of the system is highly appreciated.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
-Watch or read whichever magical school/college series you'd like. -Have a Discord account. -Think about a character that would be surprised or have their life changed by discovering they are magical!
What Bruno Fernández brings to the table
I do character voices and heavily utilize ambient AND character music for epic moments. I embrace the Rule of Cool when players are clever and cunning to solve issues with outside the box thinking, but rarely appreciate players that try to outsmart and cheat the mechanics into powercreep. This particular campaign will have highly tense combat, but character deaths are meant to be meaningful. Magic will grant you many, many choices to solve your issues and that will make survival a lot easier when used creatively. A few "boss" encounters could give you trouble.
Homebrew rules
Homebrew rules for Magical/Legendary Items; a proper combat wound system; adapting the rules to play older characters as a standard rather than a variant our outlier.

How Bruno Fernández creates a safe table
We will previously discuss Lines and Veils and I will be very clear about the non-negotiables that arise for thematic importance.
