About me

I've always had a special place in my heart for tabletop games, from the young age of 8 playing at my uncles weekly DnD campaign, to now almost 30 years later I love immersing myself and exploring in other worlds. As I "matured" I began running games for my friends at my local high school. I continued playing and running games through college, with friends as well as strangers at my local game store, and tabletop club events. I've played many TTRPGs, such as DnD, Mothership, various cypher systems, and Dark Heresy. I mainly run Mothership games now as I've become obsessed with the worlds I get to create using this system, I may run the occasional DnD adventure as well. As a technology person by trade, I like to incorporate tech into our games, though not at the expense of immersion or story. I try and replicate the in person tabletop experience, using amazing tools such as Discord for voice chat, FoundryVTT for maps and handouts, etc. I believe being a DM is allowing the players agency to tell their story in a setting that you've created. To facilitate this I have always provide clear expectations of player responsibilities to one another as well as myself. Any content warnings to discuss themes that should be adjusted. I've always made an effort for players to feel included and do not tolerate hate speech or bigotry of any kind. These tables are a safe space for all and for players to feel comfortable in my setting they must first be comfortable at the table.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will go through character creation during our session 0. We will be using 2024 rules. I will also bring along a couple pre-gen characters as well. We will use DND beyond to assist with creation. Since this is an intro we will be sticking to what can be found on the 2024 PHB.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need: Internet connection microphone and speakers (or headphones). Discord user account. A DnDBeyond (free) account is recommended, but not necessary Forge VTT Account

What Anthony brings to the table

I will bring battle maps in the form of foundry VTT and ambient music. Expect a slow ramp up on the action so we may get accustomed to rules. Expect a heavy leaning towards the rules as written, need to know what the rules are before you can break them.

Safety

How Anthony creates a safe table

We will spend the first few minutes of our first session going over lines and veils and we will use X cards through out game play. I will always be open to any content adjusted mid game.
