About the adventure
This is a game of psychological horror and investigative tension. The theme centers on the fragility of memory and the terror of the unseen. You will spend time interviewing the locals and piecing together a mystery. We play this as a roleplay-heavy experience with one difficult battle at the end against a mythical monster with many horrific abilities. While there will be moments of visceral danger, the heart of the game lies in roleplay and deduction. This is for players who love to pull on loose threads, who enjoy a "creeping dread" atmosphere, and who are ready to face a threat that feeds on the very history of the world. Since this is for charity if none of the current dates/time slots work for you please message me and I could create a time slot for you and/or your friends. I am have and will continue if the player is okay with it to run it just for 1 player. It has been done and has been received well with talks of grabbing friends to play again. This is a special event to raise money for the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund due to the current events in Minnesota. StartPlaying is waiving our standard 15% platform fee for all charity games and will match funds raised by GMs dollar-for-dollar up to $3,000, with all proceeds donated directly to the fund. Join us in supporting the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund and help deliver immediate, life-saving support to communities who need it now.

About me
I didn’t just stumble into the Game Master's seat; I evolved into it. As my group’s thirst for complexity grew, so did my passion for weaving intricate systems and living, breathing worlds. I’m the kind of DM who finds as much joy in the meticulous lore-building behind the scenes as I do in the chaos at the table. For me, "over-preparing" doesn't exist—only creating a world deep enough for players to truly lose themselves in. My goal is simple: to facilitate a respectful, high-energy environment where story and fun are the priorities. I’m constantly looking to sharpen my skills as a storyteller and game designer, and I’m looking for players who are ready to test the limits of my next great adventure.

Creating your character
Characters are to be created in DnD Beyond. You can use 2014 or 2024 rules to create your characters, but the game will be run with 2024 rules. ROC applies, of course. Your character will start at level 7 if there are at least 4 players. If there are fewer players, I will increase your character's level as necessary. If you just joined and either don't have time or don't care, you can use one of the premade characters I have available in DnD Beyond. I have every class available in case you are new and only have 1 class down, or you have a preference. Since this is a one-shot, I am trying minimize any homebrew characters for ease, but message me for quick questions. You are being called to help; we will be sticking to either good or neutral characters. You can be chaotic, but we are trying to steer away from evil. If you need a rec for a fun evil campaign, let me know. I will be available via voice chat 30 minutes before the session for any bug issues or character questions.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Once you join, you'll be given the Discord link, which will have links for DnD Beyond, Roll20, Beyond20, and Monte's Consent checklist. The Discord link will contain all information for character creation and homebrew rules. If you don't have time or don't care, I have premade characters for each class available in DnD Beyond.
What Elias brings to the table
I embrace ROC to focus on player fun. That is also why I have a zero tolerance for any name-calling, bullying, or any other form of hate. I am running this one-shot multiple times; each party will have its own category with channels on the Discord server, so as not to get a million notifications from other parties. Since this is a mystery-based game, I will drop hints as necessary or as requested by the party. Since this is for charity if none of the current dates/time slots work for you please message me and I could create a time slot for you and/or your friends. I am have and will continue if the player is okay with it to run it just for 1 player. It has been done and has been received well with talks of grabbing friends to play again.
Homebrew rules
This is a mystery-focused one-shot in the small town of Oakhaven. There will be one epic battle at the end, which is why you start at such a high level. Since this is a hero-driven campaign, I won't let you beat up the locals. Your party will start in a tavern a few miles outside of the town. You may create any reason to be in that tavern. I created this one-shot around a monster that is notoriously known to be difficult to put into DnD game. The goal is to solve the mystery of what monster and then how to overcome its abilities. Since this is mystery-based and I wrote it, I created many ways to add hints or aid in solving. I will drop them randomly, but if you are still struggling, definitely ask for a hint. If you get to a point where you give up, that is okay; we can jump straight into the epic battle. I am very ROC because I would rather have fun than be a stickler.

How Elias creates a safe table
This is a very PG game, so if there are any triggers, I will have the consent checklist on the Discord server that you may fill out and DM me so I can go over hard lines at the beginning of the one-shot.
