About me

I'm a geeky gamer mom who loves a good story. I run wholesome, accessible, PG-13 games from a variety of systems. I prefer fantasy and horror settings and love to run a good mystery or heist. Players under 18 are permitted at my tables if an adult family member is also playing and the rest of the table agrees. Please talk to me ahead of time about this. I am committed to making my games accessible! Please let me know what your needs are and I will do my very best to accommodate them.

Character creation

Creating your character

Create your characters ahead of time using the DnDBeyond campaign link I will provide you upon registration. Only official WOTC races and classes and standard builds are permitted. No customizations, no UA, no custom lineages. (If you disabled "Homebrew Content" under sources and both options under "Optional Features" on the "Home" page of DnDBeyond's character builder you will be fine.) Please use standard array to create your 10th-level characters, equip them with standard equipment plus 2 common/uncommon/rare magical items (including potions) and connect them to the DnDBeyond campaign at least 1 hour before start time. I assume your experienced hero has all the best equipment and all the tools and components they need to do their job on hand. If you need help creating your character or have any questions, please let me know at the time of registration and I will meet with you privately ahead of time to get you sorted.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please take a look at the prep materials that will be sent to you immediately after you sign up to connect on Discord and access the adventure on DnDBeyond. If you have slain a dragon with me before, please let me know so I can eliminate the likelihood you'll see the same dragon again. Set your character up at least 2 hours before the game so that I can get them all set up in the Virtual Table Top. There are pre-generated characters for you to choose from on DnDBeyond if you don't have time to make your own. You do not need to make a Foundry account, I will provide you with a link to the server and you'll just choose your character from the dropdown. No password or account needed. You will need a microphone to communicate but a camera is not necessary. If you need help with any of this, please let me know at the time of registration and I will talk to you one on one to make sure you are good to go. I cannot provide personal assistance less than 1 hour before the game starts.

Safety

How Morningbird creates a safe table

I will secretly choose a dragon at random for this event. Different types of dragons prevent different dangers. If you let me know the sorts of things you'd like to avoid, I can quietly exclude a dragon whose hunting might make those encounters likely from my selection. I have a sizable and growing collection so there are plenty of options. (Likewise if you have already slain a dragon with me, let me know which you've already had so I can exclude those from my selection as well.) All of my games are PG-13 and themes of sexual assault and child abuse and roleplay of sexual interactions are not permitted. All language must be kept safe for work. You are likely to encounter explicit depictions of violence, fire, poison, acid, animal and insect attacks, swarms and infestations, being trapped underground, being crushed, drowning and falling from high places. I urge all my players to speak with me directly if you have any concerns, are uncomfortable or just not having fun for any reason. I will call a break and to speak with you privately if you need me to.
