About me
Hey y'all. If you are looking to lose yourself into a world of action, suspense, and adventure, you've come to the right place. My name is Brian and I've been playing and running games for over four years. I got my start with D&D 5e and discovered other amazing systems over the years. Some of my favorite systems to run include Monster of the Week, Heart: The City Beneath, Spire: The City Must Fall, The Sprawl, and 5e When I'm not playing TTRPGs, I'm either doing my day job, playing video games, watching anime, reading manga, and reading the occasional book with almost exclusively words.

Creating your character
We will create characters during Session 0, but you are absolutely more than welcome to brainstorm some concepts before then. With that said, I strongly encourage you to keep an open mind since I know from experience how the game's crew type affects characterization. For this campaign, I will only allow the official Playbooks from the core book (though I do offer the Vigilantes Crew option)
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you need is a Discord and R20 account. I have the official Blades in the Dark Module for Roll20, so if you need to look over some stuff from the book, just let me know.
What Brian brings to the table
This game will use Roll20 for character sheets, dice, and handouts, while Discord will be used for voice chat and general communication. Blades in the Dark thrives on collaborative storytelling and I intend to run the game in that spirit. This includes a very thorough Session 0 where we create the kind of crew *we* want to play. You want to play a group of Smugglers who specialize in traveling into the Deathlands? That's awesome, I'm game. You want to play an espionage style game where the crew's trade is information? I'm 100% game for that. You want to play a group of refugees who defend their neighborhood from gangs and corrupt cops? I am so here for that.
Homebrew rules
I am intending on using some stuff from Deep Cuts, including the new Harm Rules, Information Gathering, and Crew Advancement. We can discuss and negotiate this further during Session 0; I am flexible in that regard.

How Brian creates a safe table
I always start Session 0 by discussing Safety Tools and establishing tone and expectations for our table. Before Session 0 officially starts, I always ask everyone to fill out a Lines and Veils document. As dark as this game is, I will always prioritize the safety and comfort of my players above all else, and I ask everyone in the table to do the same.
