About the adventure

This adventure will primarily be a home brew adventure. A few third party (non Wizard of the Coast) modules will be used in the adventure. The game will be suitable to both new and experienced players and will contain a mix of role playing, exploration and combat. The portion of the Kardagen Empire in the Tralbibo River Valley has seen an increase in raiding from a variety of bandit groups. These raids have also disrupted trade between the Kardagen Empire and the dwarven Belgrun Kingdom. The players will be tasked with investigating and putting a stop to these raids. Are these raids part of some grand scheme aimed at overthrowing the Kardagen Empire or are the bandits simply taking advantage of a weakness in the Kardagen Army?

About me

I started playing D&D with 2nd edition. I didn't play for a long time, and started playing again with 5th edition at the end of 2019. I have considerable experience as a DM in both editions.

Character creation

Creating your character

The players will create their characters before the first session. As this is a play-by-post game, there will be no formal session 0, but I will work with the players and provide them any assistance they need to create their characters. Characters will be created on DNDBeyond and then imported into Discord using AVRAE. Prior to the first paid session, I will also engage in some short individual roleplay to give characters a chance to take their characters for a test run and set up the meeting between the various pcs.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need to have DND Beyond and Discord accounts. I'll send them links to a Discord server and a DND Beyond campaign page. They will also need to fill out the Monte Cook Consent checklist and send it back to me.

What Jeffrey Baker brings to the table

In general, I will follow the rules as intended, but the Rule of Cool will occasionally be used to overwrite the written rules.

Homebrew rules

I don't have a lot of homebrew rules, although I do follow that a character can drink a potion as a bonus action. Administering a potion to another character does require an action.

How Jeffrey Baker creates a safe table

Prior to the start of play, the players will be required to fill out and submit Monte Cook's consent form. As a play-by-post game, X, N, & O will be sent to me via messaging on Discord.
