About the adventure

Frontier Scum is an Acid Western Role Playing game. Played with a full set of dice, and slightly different mechanics than one may be familliar with in DND 5E. Here on the frontier all you have to rely on is your Grit, Slick, Wits, and Luck! After a Session Zero where we will roll your Characters, and have a small lead in session to the Organ Rail campaign. I expect this to take 4-5 further sessions depending on how fast your group ends up moving. From there, if you'd like to keep playing I'll pull additional campaigns in the worls for you either all together, or in different groups if you'd prefer. I have run this campaign once before, my players really enjoyed , and I feel a little more comfortable on a frontier than in a magical forrest personally from a storytellign perspective, so I really enjoy it as well!

About me

Hello! I have been DM-ing home games for my friends for a year now, and I really enjoy playing, but they are often unavailable, and so I would really like to be able to DM for people more regularly. I am a huge fan of dimension 20, and have a good understanding of 5e but I also really appreciate a good rule of cool, or home brew. Currently I'm running a game of frontier scum and am enjoying it tremendously. I have also run a very fun game of the witch is dead, and would love to run it again.

Character creation

Creating your character

During Session zero, we will roll up your characters. If you would like to come in with a name in mind feel free! In the event your character dies over the course of the campaign, we can either roll a new one before the next session or use the online character generator to keep playing immediately.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We'll play on discord, please make sure you have an account there. Besides that it may be helpful to keep a pen and paper handy as well.

What Kimmy Olson brings to the table

In our Session Zero, we will go over play styles, and desires for more fighting vs more role play etc, so I can customize the game for you. I have the game book, Character sheet templates, one impression of a southern accent with slight variations for every character. I try my best, but I'm no VO Pro! Apologies for any lapses or characters sounding way too simillar!

Homebrew rules

We will play by the rules of frontier Scum, but I am very understanding that most people are coming from the DND ecosystem, so if you ever have questions I can certainly help translate between the two systems. I certainly believe in the rule of cool.

Safety

How Kimmy Olson creates a safe table

In our Session Zero, we will cover Lines and Veils for all players and players may also contact me privately at any time either here on start playing or on the discord where we will play, to change anything as necessary. We will take breaks, and players can call for a break whenever needeed, they need only hold up a hand to ask for a pause, or to skip a scene if needed. My goal is for everyone to feel comfortable, and have fun at my table, and in service of that I must warn you. Some of the content in this game can be violent, graphic, disgusting, and upsetting. There is Gore baked right into the Lore. Lets call this a Dead Lonesome Dove if you will, Do Not Eat.
