About the adventure
Roleplay focused games have always been something I love to help create, as they feel like living books that we can band together to write. With this idea in mind I wish to dive into a new one with you on board, so we can weave a tale that wont be forgotten to time. I already have a whole world that's been my pride & joy for many years, and I want to invite you in to explore it, expand it and embrace. Story telling through DnD is a collaboration, and I'm open to your creativity. This campaign will be player focused, with a heart free Session 0 where we can really get into what this journey could be about. I love weaving characters backstories into a winding main plot, detailed with insight into your creative freedom, as well as being able to immerse you. DnD in this form is the perfect medicine for escapism, and as a weekly game I hope to provide you with a space where you can just dive into this world for a few hours and have fun. Because at the end of the day thats what all this make believe is about, having fun, making friends, making memories and telling stories. So be not afraid my friends, jump into this world and lets explore!

About me
I have been into TTRPG's for about 8 year at this point, I fell in love with them hard when discovering DnD, and haven't looked back since. I first started out as a player but later found my true passion for the game with DMing, since then its been a constant ride of fun, passion and adventure. DMing has allowed me to open up more in life and embrace the nerdy soul that I possess. I ran a memorable campaign all throughout the pandemic for my friends online, and now I have a regular campaign that I run at home thats been going on for almost 3 years now, all based in a homebrew world I've created. If you are looking for a DM who will always do whatever they can to allow you to create stories that you will hopefully remember for many years to come, then I'm your guy. I used to be a big fantasy book nerd, but now I've turned to DnD to give me some of that dopamine hit for that genre. I am also a writer in my free time and have been developing my own TTRPG systems, such as my own Fallout system, as well as a folkhorror themed game. I'm also in the process of writing a novel based of my first campaign that I ever played as a player.

Creating your character
A free Session 0 will take place before the campaign to guide you into the character creation stage, here we will discuss as a group ideas for how the party could come to be, lore for backstories, as well as spitball what you want to see within the campaign. After the Session 0 you can reach out to me via Discord to discuss further details about your character, from mechanics to backstory assistance, I will be happy to help. If you want help creating your characters hometown, or maybe some secret details you don't wish to share with the party just yet, I'll be there!
We will discuss the makeup of the group during the free Session 0, but I am open to most things
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need both D&D Beyond, Roll20, Discord, as well as the browser extension Beyond20. These just help to make the game go smoothly. And of course Besides that I will often be available to message via Discord on any other questions you may have.
What Ryan brings to the table
Story telling and immersion are the aim of the game for this campaign, I wish to provide you with an experience where you cant step out of reality for a few hours, and sink into this world. I do this a few ways, such as making sure theres active NPCs for your characters to bounce off, as well as background music to really set the tone of an area. Combat will play more of a story focused role, only being needed for when it's really the right moment. But when it hits, it may get gritty, with lives on the line and a world that doesn't forget. The core rules will be used as a guide, as I don't like to get bogged down on what does what when we are in the thick of it. I will make sure to keep everything balanced, but some challenges will still be present.
Homebrew rules
My version of DnD 5E is a mix of the 2014 rules, as well as the 2024 updated rules, but all in all I'm pretty flexible. Of course stuff like drinking potions as a bonus action is a must, thats just basic logic. Again most of these will be discussed during the free Session 0, and I'm also very open on suggestions.

How Ryan creates a safe table
The free Session 0 will act as a place for anyone to lay down what they feel safe with having in a game, as well as what they defiantly won't want showing up (this can also be expressed via private Discord messages for privacy). I want everyone at the virtual table to feel comfortable, and even outside of game hours I'm open to talk about any issues or concerns you may have.
