About the adventure
Fabula Ultima: "Press Start" is a guided tutorial one-shot that teaches players the gameplay of Fabula Ultima from scratch through gameplay using four pre-generated characters: Blair Clarimonde, Cassandra, Edgar, and Lavigne Fallbright. Through eight scenes and a conclusion, you will be given a taste of collaborative worldbuilding and led through the different parts of a Fabula Ultima character sheet, before culminating in a boss fight using all of the tools you've learned. Then, you'll be ready to jump into a real Fabula Ultima campaign! These oneshots will be offered weekly at the same times each week: Thursdays at 6:00 PM EST, and Fridays at 2:00 PM EST. Oneshots that do not meet the minimum table size will be pushed to the next week.

About me
Hello! I'm an American GM that's been running games since January of 2021, and I've been playing TTRPGs with friends and family since sometime in the mid-2010s. I've played a handful of TTRPG systems, including Pathfinder 1st Edition, D&D 5e, Lancer, Fabula Ultima, and Vampire: The Masquerade; I've run games for D&D 5e, Lancer and Fabula Ultima. By far my favorite system I've run a game for is Fabula Ultima, and it is my current go-to system. I try to be as direct and to-the-point as possible when it comes to scheduling and communication and I value consistency in TTRPG schedules very highly - I've only cancelled sessions on a handful of occasions, even for free tables. My favorite inspirations for TTRPG campaigns lie in various video game RPGs, chief among them being NieR: Automata, CrossCode (play it - it's worth it), Xenoblade, Undertale/Deltarune, and Final Fantasy 14. Of course, I can't always keep the Touhou or Project Moon brainrot out either.

Creating your character
Players will agree to each fill the role of one of the four pre-generated characters; these characters will use modified character sheets tailored to the Press Start scenario. It is highly recommended that one player fill the role of Blair Clarimonde, the pre-generated healer.
If this oneshot fails to fill this week, the current players have agreed that we will shift to Wednesday of next week at 6:00 PM EST instead of the usual Tuesday.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should come prepared with the following: - A Discord account - A microphone (ideally with headphones, to minimize echoing) - A computer with a web browser - A space quiet enough to avoid constant background noise in VC And, most of all, a willingness to learn!

How Brennan creates a safe table
Partway through this guided tutorial, I will offer a break to gather thoughts, take bathroom breaks, or grab snacks. I also plan to stick around after the session to answer questions and accept feedback. Players are welcome to provide Lines and Veils prior to the session to ensure that none of them will be violated. I will also respond to X, N, and O messages during the session should the need arise.
