About the adventure
A dragon has settled in the mountains near the village of Gildham. Chaos has erupted in the region. Lord Kronnan has gathered as much help as possible. He wants the beast dead. You're playing level 8 characters with Gestalt rules: you pick 2 classes and level them up at once, picking the best of each (hit dice, skills, proficiencies and saving throws). At Character Creation you can choose to Roll for 5d6 and dropping the lowest 2 or, if you're not happy, then you use Point Buy with 33 points (instead of the normal 27). We're playing with 2024 material only. No magic items. Otherwise, go nuts. If you have a combo in mind that want to try? Bring it on. We're playing in Roll20 with voice over Discord. This is for fun and power fantasy.

Creating your character
You create your character as normal, but instead of choosing 1 class, you choose 2 and level up at the same time. Your level 8 character will be 8 levels in Fighter AND 8 levels in Wizard (for example). You may choose any option from 2024 material. - Your Proficiency Bonus is +3. - Choose 2 Saving Throw Proficiencies between those available from your classes. - Choose the Skill Proficiencies from the ones provided from your classes. If you are Rogue/Warlock, you pick 4 proficiencies among the ones available to Rogues AND Wizards. - Armor, Tool and Weapon Proficiencies from both classes. - You gain Class Features from both classes and their respective subclasses. If they overlap or are the same, you choose the most beneficial one. You only get Extra Attack at level 5 (or 6) from one class. If you gain Spellcasting from Bard and Ranger, you gain the best of Bard's but can choose either Cha or Wis as spellcasting ability. Spell lists are combined. Access to Paladin and Ranger levels still happens at levels 1, 5, 9... - You get 2 ASI: at level 4 and at level 8. -Channel Divinity from Cleric and Paladin stack. - Unarmored Defense don't stack, you pick which one. Don't worry too much about starting equipment. There's no magic items, though.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I run my games online. You need a webcam, a mic and potentially some headphones to avoid echo and mic feedback. I use Roll20 for the game and the camera. You need an account and to be signed up for playing. The free account is more than enough for what we're doing here. You'll need your computer I also use Discord for the voice and to organise the games, documents and general communications. You need to have an account there and join our server, then connect to the voice channel and have it running on the background. Besides that, bring water and snacks if you want some, something to inspire you—candles always do the trick for me, and yourself!
What Pepe Bernabé brings to the table
I run Roll20 and can share with you PHB 2014 and 2024, Xanathar's and Tasha's books. I've also got the DMGs and the MM for both so the monsters up to date. I run voice through Discord, and I have my own server, where we can discuss and exchange builds for the game. I'm open to adapt any class or smooth any rough interactions in order to maximise the fun for this One-Shot. Although I'm not great at voices—even if I try my best, you're welcome to try! If you have fun then I have fun. I also lean on the rule of cool, but expect deadly encounters!
Homebrew rules
Despite the Gestalt Characters (choose 2 classes and level them up at the same time), I don't have any specific homebrews. I'm open to adapt certain classes to reduce friction for your specific choice. One common homebrew I've used is: - Longbows and Shortbows are Finesse weapons and can attack with Str instead of Dex. - Longsword is Finesse when used in two hands. That short of things.

Safety
How Pepe Bernabé creates a safe table
In Session 0 we all draw red lines, and set expectations, and the signals when we are getting into non acceptable territory. We usually take a break midsession, in which I check on everyone and give them time to decompress. Then after each session, we go through how it went and how they felt, giving feedback and granting inspiration to those characters and players that did particularly well.
