About the adventure
More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as Phandelver’s Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path. A powerful force of orcs, reinforced by evil mercenary wizards, attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magical treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost. For centuries, rumors of buried riches have attracted treasure seekers and opportunists to the area around Phandalin, but no one has ever succeeded in locating the lost mine. In recent years, people have resettled the area. Phandalin is now a rough-and-tumble frontier town. More important, Rose Cortez, a treasure hunter and member of a well-known treasure hunting guild, believes she has discovered the entrance to Wave Echo Cave. She has drawn the attention and financial backing of John Rocks, a dwarf investigator searching for answers connected to strange arcane experiments and lost secrets tied to the mine. Traveling with her is Icarus Sullivan, a human warrior hoping to pay off old debts and protect Rose on the dangerous road ahead. Unfortunately for them, they are not the only ones interested in Wave Echo Cave. A mysterious villain known as the White Stripe controls a network of kobold gangs and goblin tribes in the area, and his agents have begun to follow Rose’s trail. Now the White Stripe wants Wave Echo Cave for themself, and is taking steps to make sure no one else learns where it lies. NOTE FROM THE GM: This is a beginner and low-level campaign. If you are new to D&D, this adventure is perfect for you. I will take the time to teach the game and Roll20 mechanics as needed.

About me
Hey there! My name is Red and I'm looking forward to being your new DM. I've been playing DND for many years, I started over 2 decades ago when I was younger. As for being your GM, I have been running games for just over 10 years now, and have a passion for storytelling. I'm looking forwarding to telling YOUR story! I believe a balance of roleplaying, party member relationships, exploration, and combat will result in an engaging experience where you care about your characters, and they are more then just stats on a page. Together we can bring them to life! Please feel free to message me about times, settings, anything you need. I'm looking forward to playing with you! As well, I post all my games for 6pm start time, this is just to show I have games available for that day. If your party wants to start earlier or later then the posted time I am happy to accommodate. Lastly if there is a module you and your group is interested in I am happy to run different modules, custom content, or my own homebrew.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Players will make characters using the Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) or the Point-Buy system, whatever the party prefers. You are welcome to make your character before the game starts, however until the group is set to active I will not be sending the Roll20 link. I have a DNDBeyond extension if you would rather make your character on there.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Roll20 account, a Discord Account, and a working microphone.
What Red brings to the table
I like to do character voices, I use music to set tone and mood, and am happy to provide players with whatever they need. This can be anything from lessons on how the game works, mechanic questions, roleplay options, generated artwork, class progression advice, and everything in between.
Homebrew rules
There are a couple rules I have lifted from the 2024 ruleset. -Healing is doubled for spells (cure wounds: 1d8 per level becomes 2d8 per level) -Lay on Hands is a bonus action. -Surprise Rules (its just easier for everyone) As well a couple custom rules: -Wounding system to prevent yo-yo-ing -Vicious Mockery is a Bonus Action OR Action cast, you can choose.

How Red creates a safe table
In Session 0 I like to talk about what players enjoy most and least about the game, any content you are not okay with, and expectations for the game. I will regularly check in with players to make sure everyone feels welcome and is having fun.
