About the adventure
"Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaurant filled with odd little waiters who bring you things you never asked for and don't always like." - Lemony Snicket 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ Queer and Neurodivergent Friendly 🧶🔍 You may be interested if you enjoy media such as... 🪄 Howl's Moving Castle 🐈⬛ Kiki's Delivery Service 🎭 A Series of Unfortunate Events 🍂 Over the Garden Wall 💎 Steven Universe This is a Roleplay-Heavy Homebrew campaign designed to explore a mix of Cozy-Modern Slice of life with the fantastical adventures Dungeons and Dragons provides. The Isles of the Tridri Witches, a Hauntocratic Dominion, is in the midst of a magitech modernity- dealing with the same technology levels we are familiar with in our world, with an added dash of the high fantasy occult. The Campaign will begin in the small sister towns of New Shaghowford and Jharmouth, as they suffer a sudden blight of strange corrupted fish which have suddenly halted their massive coastal fishing industry. No experience is required, and help will be offered all along the way- from building a character to rolling for combat! Within this adventure, expect to develop character themes, solve uniquely strange puzzles, battle esoteric creatures, and dive into the mystery of the Tridri's empire across all its distinct communities. All Battle maps and Scenery are created by me, and no AI will be used at any point in the process. Players will be making characters starting at 2nd Level, as this provides a depth of capabilities for all characters! We will be using Dungeons and Dragons 5e (2014), and players may use any officially published material in character creation. (Published or Licensed by Wizards of the Coast) I am a narrative-first DM! This means that I prioritize the development of the narrative and story through gameplay- this may come in the form of both Roleplay and Combat, meaning you will experience both within this adventure! If you are not comfortable with Role-playing or discover that you are uncomfortable with it in play, that is okay! That does not mean your character will not have their own themes or stories that unfold with everyone.

About me
Hello! I am a Queer, 18+ GM, who has been running games since I was Twelve-Years old, and absolutely obsessed with telling stories! The ultimate fun comes from crafting a wonderful story for your friends and allowing them to relish in the emotions- my worlds are crafted both for and from those around me. I love teaching brand-new Players all about the games in which we play, and absolutely everyone is welcome at the table!

Creating your character
Players may choose to either make their own 2nd Level Character before the game or choose a pregenerated character at the start of the session. Players may use a physical sheet, a virtual sheet through Roll20, or an automated service such as DND Beyond for character creation. Stats are determined using Standard Array. We will be using Dungeons and Dragons 5e (2014), and players may use any officially published material in character creation. (Published or Licensed by Wizards of the Coast)
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The game will be run using Roll20 (an online Virtual Tabletop)- while communicating through a Discord Server! Meaning players should have an Account created for both platforms. I utilize Discord Bots to play atmospheric music, which adapts to the tone of the game as it changes- while also being adjustable for each player according to their preferences.
What Ry brings to the table
I am a narrative-first DM! Personally, I use cinematic language and character voices to describe and play through scenes- highlighting themes and controlling tension through narration. Players are not expected to mimic my style, and are welcome to engage as they see fit.
Homebrew rules
Drinking a Potion on your Character only requires a Bonus Action; however, administering it to other players is a full Action. Critical Hit's double all the attacks damage instead of doubling the rolled Dice, including the modifier. Death Saves are rolled privately and DMed to me in secret. Rolling a 20, immediately brings the character back to 1 Hitpoint, and they may immediately take their full turn as usual.
