About the adventure

The game takes place in Mage Hand Press' Dark Matter setting. You are a crew, brought together by chance, to escort a trade ship to it's destination, however, what starts as a simple quest soon turns into galaxy spanning adventure as you fight cults, solve mysteries, and eventually discover the secret behind the mysterious Sepulcher star. Features space combat and unique enemies, political challenges and mental challenges alike, a large variety of planets to explore and races to make contact with, and many mysteries waiting to be solved. Some days you will be trying to navigate the vastness of space, other days you may be crash landed on a planet, searching for a way off. Regardless, the vastness of space is a dangerous place, and you are at it's mercy. Only the smartest and bravest of adventurers can hope to conquer space travel, and unlock it's many mysteries. There will be a session zero that will be free, to go over character introductions, rules, last minute character changes, and a bit of ship combat to let you get used to how it works. As this will be a longform campaign, only join if you

Character creation

Creating your character

Your character should be level 1 starting off. We will be using point buy for character creation. You will be have access to the standard races, as well as the races the setting takes place in, with other races being available with DM approval. For classes, you can be any standard class or subclass. There will also be a few new classes and subclasses available to you that you can also choose from. We will be using the 2024 version of the rules.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to have a roll20 account made and message me for the campaign link. I would suggest having a pc for this, as it's not quite optimized for cellphone. You will need to join my discord server. (message me for details) Have your character ready. (feel free to DM me for more details regarding that)

What Falgo brings to the table

I will bring a fun experience, with fully detailed battle maps and dynamic lighting, memorable NPCs, and music to set the scenes. I will also be taking suggestions, so if there is something you want to achieve outside the original setting, but can't quite do it mechanically, I will try my best to help you achieve what you are doing in a way that's balanced and fits well with the setting.

Homebrew rules

There are a few rules that are outside standard D&D, such as space combat. Those will be gone over in detail during session zero, and again when they come up in world for the first time, with refreshers given whenever necessary. Besides those, you can drink a potion as a bonus action.

Safety

How Falgo creates a safe table

I will be hosting a free session zero for everyone to get to know the party and vibe I am going for. I will also be doing check ups after game to hear opinions from my players on what they enjoyed and disliked. I put terrorism, drugs and torture in the tags to be safe... but that's going to be a you guys thing if it happens, I'm just being safe.
