About the adventure

Hello adventurers, I'm putting out the call 4 a long-term, serious campaign that will take us from level 1 to potentially level 20 in 1 massive, interconnected story that weaves together some of the most beloved WotC adventures into 1 cohesive saga. 8 official modules & short stories rolled into 1 epic journey + 4 custom stories written by me. Chapter 1) Dragons of Stormwreck Isle Chapter 2) The Tears of Selune Chapter 3) Lost Mine of Phandelver Chapter 4) The Shattered Obelisk pt1 Chapter 5) Dragons of Icepire Peak Chapter 6) The Shattered Obelisk pt2 Chapter 7) In Volo's Wake Chapter 8) Storm's Lord Wrath Chapter 9) Sleeping Dragon's Wake Chapter 10) Divine Contention Chapter 11) The Shattered Obelisk pt3 Chapter 12) The Shattered Dreams This is not a collection of 1 shots or a loose anthology. Everything you do, every choice you make, every ally you gain or enemy you make, carries forward across the entire arc. Ur characters will grow, change, & carry the weight of their past decisions in ways that will surprise & haunt you. What to expect: Magic is rare, dangerous, & often unreliable. Resources matter. Survival is hard. Death is real. Every fight feels like it could be ur last. We start on a remote, storm-lashed island where each of you are sent to do some random job. However trouble was already brewing on the island upon ur arrival & you quickly learn the ancient history of this island as you must stop the evil entity seeking to harness an unimaginable power that surpasses Tiamat herself. From there, the trail leads to the Sword Coast: treacherous wilderness, cutthroat cities, forgotten ruins, & power struggles between dragons, cults, & other forgotten powers. Then there is the Cosmic horror side of things. There are things in this world that should not be. Whispers from beyond the stars. Visions that erode sanity. Ancient forces that do not care if you live or die. The deeper you go, the more you realize how small you truly are. There is a tiny touch of sci-fi wonder. At 1 point, you will leave the surface world behind & venture into space. Expect a breathtaking vistas of floating city, alien races, & spelljamming ships sailing between the stars. But this is not a sci-fi campaign... it's a brief, unforgettable detour into the unknown b4 the story returns to the Sword Coast. Expect Plot twists & surprises – I will not hold ur hand. I will not telegraph the big reveals. There will be betrayals, revelations, & moments that make you question everything you thought you knew. Questions will linger. Secrets will unfold slowly. The truth will come in fragments, & when the final pieces fall into place, it will be devastating & beautiful. Tone & Style This is a gritty, low-magic, high-stakes game. Expect dark moments, moral ambiguity, moral dilemma & the constant threat of death. But it is also a story of heroism, faith, & hope against impossible odds. We will laugh, scream, curse the dice, & remember these characters 4 years.

About me

20 years of D&D experience & Top Moderator of r/LostMinesofphandelver, r/Dragonsoficespirepeak r/VecnaEveofRuins, r/spelljammer & r/stormwreckisle on reddit. A Pro User on Roll20 since 2013 with well over 5,000 hours on that platform and over 1,100 community post on their forum. I am a Student of Ohgma and loremaster of the Sword Coast Region. When I DM, what is my style? DM Style - on a non-module, I enjoy a slower, heavy RP pace games. I love resource/survival based games and to keep things realistic as possible. I do not discourage out of the box thinking and creative, unrealistic action. I enjoy both serious and comedic D&D campaigns. In terms of Storytelling, I DM with a cinematic point of view. Cut scenes, narratives and this is where I may allow Rule of Cool if it make sense. Combat wise - I am tactical and I respect my NPC. The Bandits may not continue attacking you when you hit 0 hp. But a wolf will continue to attack and permanently kill your character. Intelligent creatures will act accordingly.

Character creation

Creating your character

This is a character-first, ensemble-driven table. Characters here are people, not builds; Collaborators, not spotlights; Beginnings, not finished legends. If you’ve ever felt like you were carrying the emotional weight of a table alone — or wished you could finally bring your A-game and trust that everyone else would too — you’re in the right place. Character creation happens during Session 0 and the entire week leading up to Session 1. We will have a 1 on 1 creative session together. We’ll build your character together with intention: who they are, Where they came from, how their journey so far has shaped them, and how they fit into the story. Each character begins their journey in an individual Level 1 prologue. These prologues exist to ground your character in the Starting city and set clear narrative momentum from the start. Characters are not lone wolves, chosen ones, joke concepts, or experimental builds. They are not born of sexual violence, written solely as trauma objects, or designed to disrupt the table. Characters are not Evil, and if they’re chaotic, they are thoughtful and aware of consequences. Narrative tension is welcome; PvP, theft, adversarial play, and other disruptive playstyles are not. Backstories are starting points, not novellas. You’ll be given a structured form upon requesting to join the campaign, designed to capture what’s actually useful: NPCs, goals, open threads, secrets with purpose, and hopes for how your story might unfold. Depending which campaign we are doing; I’ll use as much as you give me — as long as it’s digestible. Expect small between-session prompts from time to time to help deepen your character and the city around them. If you’re unsure whether your concept fits, that’s a good sign. Bring the idea. We’ll shape it together. --------------------------- ROLL FOR STATS ABILITTY SCORES - Roll 4d6 drop the lowest. No Point Buy or Stat Array --------------------------- Allowed Races: Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, Human, Gnome, Half-Elf, Goliath, Kobold (DM Approval required) No Evil Alignment / Characters BANNED Classes / Domain - CLERICS: Death, Peace and Twilight Domain. PALADINS: Oath Breaker. Artificer Soft Ban: Warlock - Gonna need to hear a good reason / backstory to allow it. Thematically - they are extremely frowned upon in my world. There is Baggage attached to them if playing one. However I am not totally against them. Soft Ban: Moon Druid - You can play one, but there are some restriction - Please discuss with me if interested and agree to some logical rules. Heavy on RAW Soft Ban: School of Divination Wizard - Halfling can not multi-class Multiclass is mostly allowed. You can not Multiclass into a Warlock Hexblade and Warlock Hexblade players can't Multiclass. Banned Feat: Lucky, Magic Initiate for (Eldritch Blast, Goodberry*) *If you're going Life Cleric / GoodBerry Combo, then Long rest rule will change. (More detail inside my discord on House Rule) Banned Spell: Silvery Barb

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before you join the table, please visit my official table on Roll20 and see if this game is for you. I have shared 3 posts: 1) Character Rules & Creation 2) Official, Variant, Gritty & House Rules 3) Starting Out Weapons + Weapons & Armor Certificate Rule https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/438330/official-sword-coast-the-shattered-dreams ------------------------------------------------- We will be using Roll20 & Discord. This campaign is intentionally paced and deliberately curated. Campaign preparation isn’t busywork — it’s how we make sure that when the game starts, everyone arrives ready to play together. The game may not start immediately. This is a premium, potentially long-form campaign, and the early groundwork is part of the experience. We will begin when we have four-five characters. Platforms & Tools • Discord is central. It’s where announcements, roll call, downtime roleplay, recaps, and between-session communication live. Players are expected to read recaps, acknowledge announcements (even a quick emoji), and respond to roll call. If you only want to engage during session time, this table will not be a good fit. • Roll20 is the VTT used for play. Players are expected to be comfortable navigating the interface and managing their characters without interrupting session flow. Technical Expectations • A mic/headset is required (no feedback or echo). • Camera (and voices) are strongly encouraged, but not required. • Stable internet and basic technical readiness are assumed. Engagement Between Sessions Out-of-session engagement happens at the pace of real life — regularly or irregularly, as schedules allow — but it does matter. Expect occasional light prompts or exercises to help deepen characters and the city around them. Downtime RP is optional, but encouraged; the story lives there too. This preparation process exists to protect the table, respect everyone’s time, and create the conditions for meaningful ensemble play. If you’re excited by intention, collaboration, and showing up prepared — you’ll feel right at home!

How Novercalis creates a safe table

This table is for adults and will deal with adult content excluding Erotic Roleplay. During Session zero, I will gauge on the table to determine the limit as I have no problem if everyone is open to a much darker, gritter settings. With that said - I am okay as a DM, presenting pretty much everything but ERP. So it's up to the table to decide where the line is. We are adults, playing a fantasy game - nothing more, nothing less.
