Lost Mine of Phandelver (First session free.), Beginner focused.
It was supposed to be a simple caravan escort mission. Though the twang of bows made that into a lie.

About the adventure
A nice old dwarf has requested that a young group of adventurers escort his cart of goods up to the town of Phandelver. It's a peaceful trip, and normally he wouldn't even bother bringing guards other than his trusty book. But unfortunately he has some business up in Waterdeep, and there's been an increased presence of Goblins recently. So he's helped some newly equipped would be adventurers with an easy job and some start up capital. The dwarf most certainly hasn't set the group on a course of actions that, should they choose to follow it, will set them to overthrow a goblin boss, root out a band of criminals, and discover a long lost mine filled with gold and treasure. Such claims are utterly ridiculous. As well are claims that he has done so before. These should be disregarded as scurrilous rumors fabricated from those jealous of his long, luxurious dwarf beard.

About me
I run games and publish content. I could go into more detail, but you're looking for a DM, not a story, that comes during the game. My greatest strengths are mechanics and adventures. I am very well versed in the mechanics of the game and classes. I stick close to the RaW but I'm not opposed to bending some rules.

Creating your character
Characters will have point buy and start at level 1. We'll meet up and make all the characters in a session 0.. If you desire to work with the other players on your backstory that can be discussed with them on the discord server, or during session 0. (I'll be there as well, of course.)
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a mic with either a quiet place or push to talk through Discord. The player sheets will be stored on Roll20. Rolls will take place through Roll20's dice rolling on chat. (Beyond20 is also acceptable.)
What Tim brings to the table
Access to all WoTC content (that's been published on Roll20) through the compendium. As well as numerous side quests, story arcs, and I'll admit, some wit, that has come from my many years of DMing. (Don't worry, you won't get anything from the early years... Or as I call them... The dark times.)

How Tim creates a safe table
There will be roleplaying in every session. There is a lot of talking to NPCs, finding out what exactly is going on in the campaign. Combat will be fairly common but parts are certainly dependent on the party. There are, of course, unavoidable fights, but many are also avoidable by the party's actions. And while the combat will be challenging, I will adjust it to the party so you don't need to min-max everything to stand a chance. (But a warrior with 10 str and 10 dex would be ill-advised.) Outright puzzles will be uncommon. However there will be riddles at times, and quite a bit of piecing together information to get the full picture of what's going on in the campaign. There will be normal fantasy violence, taverns, and other things you'll find in your average adventure-filled fantasy world. You might find bodies, trapped people, and poor innocents in poor situations. You won't be finding anything beyond a PG-13 movie though. The game is focused on new and inexperienced players, but veterans who keep that in mind are also welcome to apply. I can help you with making your character or you can do it on your own. As well as I'll clarify any rules and such for you all.
