About the adventure

You will take on the role of a champion. You will battle foes and defend the weak. You will forge a story that bards will tell for ages to come. This starting Daggerheart campaign is perfect for you. You want to tell a story? Check. You want to play a hero? Check. You want to build a shared story with others like you? Check. You want to be part of this campaign! You will create a new character, or use one of the characters I have already created for you. We will build the world together, starting in the Sablewood with the quickstart adventure, telling a Daggerheart-flavoured epic fantasy tale. Not to worry if you have not played before. I have written a few books for Daggerheart and I have a whole series on my YouTube channel (see below). I can guide you through the rules step by step. So, whether you are new to Daggerheart or an old hand, you will find something to love in this campaign. Note:Sessions will run the 1st and 3rd Weeks of the month. About me

Hello, I am Peter, a professional Game Master and storyteller with more than thirty years of experience in tabletop roleplaying. I focus on clear structure, steady pacing, and story driven play that gives every player room to shine. Through my work on Hollowponds Solo Sagas, and as a published game author whose works include Single Player Mode for R. Talsorian’s Cyberpunk Red and several roleplaying tools and guides, I have developed a consistent style that blends character focused storytelling with solid rules support. My tables are welcoming, organised, and calm, with guidance for new players and space for experienced players to push the story forward. What you can expect from my games: • Smooth pacing and clear communication • A friendly relaxed atmosphere • Fair challenges that respect player agency • Strong story focus supported by the system • Reliable scheduling and preparation About me: I have worked as a teacher, a developer, and a Scrum Master, all of which help me run focused and respectful sessions. I am a trained Mental Health First Aider and pay close attention to accessibility and the needs of neurodiverse players. My goal is always to create a table where everyone feels able to contribute. I run a range of systems including Daggerheart, Cyberpunk Red, Coriolis, Dragonbane, Savage Worlds, and more, and I tailor each session to the tone and pace the group enjoys. You are welcome to see how I run games here: https://www.youtube.com/@HollowpondsSoloSagas

Character creation

Creating your character

We will start with level 1 characters from the core rules. I have the quick start characters you can use. Character creation is fast and we can do this as part of session zero if you would rather.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Foundry VTT needs a modern browser for access. The best experience is on a desktop browser, especially: Google Chrome (best all-round compatibility) Mozilla Firefox Microsoft Edge Also fine: Opera Safari is not supported for Foundry VTT, so avoid it if you can. Make sure hardware acceleration is enabled. Check you can access Discord, which we’ll use for voice (and optional video). You don’t need to use video, but seeing faces really does help, and you’re all gorgeous. You’ll also need headphones and a mic at the very least. Please practise muting yourself, especially if you’ve got a noisy background. We’ll also use Discord for out-of-session questions and chat between games. Joining Discord 5–10 mins before each session to test your mic is a good idea.

What Hollowponds (Peter) brings to the table

You know what you’re bringing to the table and what you need. Here’s what I’ll bring. If you’ve watched my channel, you’ll already have a feel for my style. We’ll create the story of your adventures together, and the world will feel like yours. What will I provide? A shared story built around your goals and decisions. A cast of memorable NPCs, with voices and depth. A campaign shaped by your choices. A cinematic tone, the kind of game you’ll remember and want to retell. What is my experience? I know and love Daggerheart. I’ve played a full solo campaign season on my YouTube channel (22 episodes). I’ve written Daggerheart GM guides and solo guides, with over 1,000 copies sold. I’ve written other TTRPG material too, including Single Player Mode for Cyberpunk RED, a bestseller since release. What’s my table vibe like? Humour when it fits, seriousness when it matters. A supportive table. I’m neurodiverse, and I understand different needs and play styles. Do we have a Session Zero? Yes. We’ll cover safety, expectations, character fit, and your preferences, then set one shared goal: telling a kick-arse story together.

Homebrew rules

We’ll go by the book, unless the rule of cool takes over. If the rules say something would not work, but everyone at the table loves what you propose, the rules can take a back seat to the fun for a moment.

Safety

How Hollowponds (Peter) creates a safe table

During Session Zero, we’ll cover safety, expectations, Lines and Veils, and how we’ll handle anything that comes up at the table, so everyone feels comfortable. I’m a Mental Health First Aider, and I work hard to make the table supportive, respectful, and welcoming while we build the story together.
