About the adventure

These games will be both introductory and advanced games into the fascinating world of Mongoose Traveller. So whether you are completely new to Traveller or Sci Fi or an old pro, there is something here for you. There is heavy emphasis on Roleplay, but many of the adventures and missions rely on skills like performing checks and procedures. There is also space combat and planetary exploration. The mind has no limits when it comes to sci fi RPGS, and Traveller is the perfect tool to explore the imagination.

About me

I've been playing RPGs since 1985, then started GMing in 1987. Never looked back from being a GM, I prefer it to playing. I learned on AD&D 2nd Edition, DMed every Edition since then, and I'm one of those weird ones who didn't actually mind 4th at all. I also Run Pathfinder, Pathfinder 2, Starfinder, Mongoose Traveller 2nd, Traveller 5, Twilight 2000, Rifts, Palladium Fantasy, and Dark Heresy. Recently Disabled, so was suggested I try GMing for hire, since it's what I know best and love to do.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation is an adventure in itsself, and in the older versions of traveller you could die in character creation. We will be creating the characters in FG Unity together, so that Contacts, allies and enemies can be worked out beforehand. This makes for stronger RP. for the occasional one shot, Pre rolled characters will be provided so you can jump right into the fun. There are no levels in Traveller per se, but characters are defined by "Terms" each term is a four year commitment to training in their life. Age has an effect on skills and abilities.

Safety

How Desert creates a safe table

A typical session will last 4 to 6 hours. There will be a lot of encouragement for Role play, but there will be times when combat will not be able to be avoided. A lot of space exploration and ample docking time and planetary adventure spattered throughout. Expect to be working with other players, not lone wolfing or plotting against the party. I have the Luxom technique in place, ten minute breaks every two hours, and an open door policy. Also possible triggers and sensitive content will be discussed openly before each session.
