About the adventure

Join us as we learn how to play Daggerheart together and explore the grim fantasy setting of The Age of Umbra. This is a beginner friendly adventure, but all experience levels are welcome! LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC always celebrated at my table. --- A priest from a settlement called the Twilight Warrens has put out a request for an escort into the wilds. A group of hunters recently discovered a set of ruins nearby that may have valuable artifacts. Explorers were sent to investigate further, and they believe they have found an ideal site for a new settlement. The priest would like to go see the site for himself. The journey will be dangerous, but the pay is good, and there's always the possibility of artifacts to be claimed from the ruins. --- The Age of Umbra is a grim fantasy setting where mortal-kind survives in a post-apocalyptic, gods-forsaken world. A growing storm of lost souls called the Umbra roams the world and corrupts anything that is caught in it. Living things are cursed and twisted by the spirits, becoming abominations and horrors that are doomed to roam the darkness and hunt the wildlands outside the settlement walls. But, all is not hopeless. The Enduring still find ways to better their life and their community even during these dark times. With a little luck, a few even thrive. As the Enduring continue to rebuild their numbers, leaders often look for new places to create new settlements to expand and grow. All the while, theologians, scientists, and explorers search for knowledge about the Umbra and its origin, hoping to find a way to rid the world of the corruption once and for all.

About me

Hello, fellow travelers! My name is Tiger and I've been into gaming and storytelling all of my life. I'm old enough to say that my first computer was a Compaq and my first video game console was an Atari 2600. If either of those names mean nothing to you, then I'm ancient and I'm looking for my walker because I forgot where I put it. I've been playing TTRPGs since red box, mostly in the various editions of D&D, but also several PbtA, L5R, and some indies. I've been GM-ing for several years now. This format of storytelling suits me well, and I really enjoy spending time with other folks of my tribe and community! I am a queer polyamorous gay man (he/him) with a husband and family. I make it a point to create a safe space for storytellers, no matter their backstory to express themselves authentically, with joy, passion, and creativity.

Character creation

Creating your character

We use Demiplane for character sheets. Once you have access to the Nine Tiger Tales Discord Server, instructions on how to create an account are provided in the Player Resources channel. Once you have access to your game's private channels, link to the Demiplane campaign invite will be provided in your team's chat channel. This will give you access to the unlocked content and content in The Void (beta material.) Players may then create a Level 1 Daggerheart character and add them to the group. If you are new to roleplaying games in general, pregenerated characters will be provided in the Demiplane campaign for you to choose from if you are not confident creating your own character. The Void (Beta options) are in effect, and Transformations are available, but please discuss with the GM first. Character sheets must be submitted to the GM 24 hours prior to gametime.

What Tiger @Nine Tiger Tales brings to the table

Daggerheart in general is a story-driven system. It relies on player participation in helping describe the world and scenes in which you, the players, will explore. More information on the world setting and tips on character creation is provided in the private channels for the team. Once you are in the Demiplane group, I can share my content with you so that you have access to all the unlocked content as well as the Void (beta) material. Pregen characters will be available if you need/want them.
