About the adventure

Albion is a shining realm of knights, dragons, and gods who walk openly among mortals. Sacred orders uphold justice, ancient oaths bind the land together, and divine influence shapes everyday life in ways both wondrous and unsettling. This campaign begins at the heart of that world, where faith and law feel strong—but small fractures are beginning to show beneath the surface. Oaths of Albion is a character-driven D&D campaign focused on roleplay, relationships, and meaningful choices. Your character’s beliefs, background, and personal struggles will matter just as much as their sword arm or spellbook. You’ll build bonds with fellow adventurers, form connections to the world, and face decisions that test what loyalty, justice, and goodness really mean in a land guided by divine certainty. This table is intentionally welcoming and supportive. New players are absolutely encouraged, and no prior lore knowledge is required. The game emphasizes collaborative storytelling, clear communication, and emotional safety—heavy themes are handled with care, consent, and modern safety tools. You’re never expected to “perform” or out-roleplay anyone; showing up curious and engaged is enough. If you’re looking for a long-term game with space to explore your character, share the spotlight, and feel safe investing emotionally, Oaths of Albion offers heroic fantasy with heart. Albion is a land built on promises—what you choose to swear, protect, or challenge will help decide what it becomes.

About me

Hi everyone. I've been a DM for about 15 years now. I've run everything from fully built home-brew worlds, official modules, silly one shots, and everything in-between. I started professionally DM'ing during the pandemic and have created a wonderful, inclusive, vibrant community that focuses on story-telling and roleplaying. I would love to run you/your party through any kind of adventure that you/your group is looking for. Something heroic, spooky, funny, mysterious, and everything in-between. Please message me, and let's set something up. This is my passion, and I would love to share it with you.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created using the 2024 D&D ruleset as the primary foundation, including all officially released 2024 content. That said, this table is flexible and collaborative—if you’d like to use options from earlier 5e material or have a homebrew idea, just let me know and we’ll look at it together to make sure it fits the game. Characters will begin at Level 3, giving everyone room to establish who they are while already feeling capable and distinct. I’ll provide a D&D Beyond campaign link to make creation easy and consistent for everyone. New to D&D? You’re more than welcome here. During Session 0, we’ll walk through character creation step by step, answer questions, and make sure you feel confident and excited about your character before the adventure begins.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a Discord account for voice and out-of-game communication, as well as a D&D Beyond account for character creation and character sheets. The virtual tabletop will be accessed through a web-based link—no additional accounts or software are required. If you can open a webpage, you’re good to go. That’s it! Any additional setup, questions, or tech help can be handled together during Session 0, so there’s no need to stress about having everything perfect ahead of time.

What Rob the DM brings to the table

I strive to create an immersive, welcoming table where players feel comfortable engaging, experimenting, and investing in their characters. I use distinct NPC voices, vivid descriptions, and curated ambient music to help bring the world to life and support the tone of each scene. Combat is tactical and cinematic, designed to feel dynamic and meaningful rather than repetitive. I care deeply about pacing and flow, and I’m happy to lean into the rule of cool when it makes a moment more exciting or memorable. The rules are treated as a shared framework to support storytelling, not a tool to limit creativity. While combat can be intense and high-stakes, it is always used in service of the story—not as a punishment. Encounters are designed to challenge characters, highlight their strengths, and create dramatic moments, not to catch players out or “win” against them. My goal is for every session to feel engaging, fair, and fun.

Homebrew rules

At this time, I’m using very few homebrew rules, as the 2024 updates address most of the areas I previously adjusted. The game will primarily be played using the core rules as written. That said, tabletop games are living systems. As the campaign evolves, we may introduce light homebrew or table adjustments if something improves flow, balance, or storytelling. Any changes will always be discussed openly as a group, with player input and clear communication—nothing will be sprung on you mid-session. The goal is always the same: to support fun, fairness, and the best story possible.

Safety

How Rob the DM creates a safe table

Player safety and comfort are a top priority at my table. Before the campaign begins, we’ll have a Session 0 to set expectations, discuss boundaries, and make sure everyone is on the same page. Players will also complete a safety and consent sheet so themes, limits, and comfort levels are clearly understood from the start. Throughout the campaign, I maintain open lines of communication, both in-game and out-of-game. Players are always welcome to message me privately with questions, concerns, or feedback, and those conversations will be handled with care and respect. The goal is to create a table where everyone feels heard, supported, and safe enough to engage deeply with the story. Adjustments can always be made—your comfort comes before the game.
