About me

I have been a Games Master since the mid-1980s, during which time I have run numerous different RPGs and rule systems. I like systems that are smooth, quick to learn, and easy to play while still feeling polished and fleshed out. I have written RPG material professionally for the AGE Creator's Alliance, Frightshow Classics and my own indi RPG company "Gethsemane Games". My games aim to promote a sense of wonder in fantasy and run the gamut from whimsical to dark often drawing on European folklore and Fairytail elements to imerse my players in fantastic adventures they will remember for years to come.

Character creation

Creating your character

Pre-generated characters are available to choose from, or you may create your own. If you are familiar with the Fantasy AGE Core rules, you may create your own 2nd level character either using the “Choosing Advances” method on page 11 or the dice method on page 12.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need an account with Roll20 (the free account will suffice) and a Discord account (again, the free account will do) in order to play this game,

What Bryan F Irving brings to the table

I will provide my 4 decades of GMing experience and my knowledge of both the AGE system and this adventure - which I wrote and published for Gethsemane Games. I will work with the players to help you craft a fun and interesting story from the elements provided. My rulings will be fair, and I favour a “Failing Forward” approach to poor dice rolls. If you aren’t familiar with the term “Failing Forward,” means that a poor dice roll won’t bring the game to a halt; it will present you with a new challenge while keeping the game flowing. Character mortality is a possibility, however, as a sense of danger is part of the fun. I am always open to hearing players’ ideas on how to meet the challenges presented in clever and innovative ways.
