Steam-powered technology and rudimentary electricity are replacing the magickal arts. This rush of innovation has brought remarkable advancements to society and daily life, raising the standard of living for the average citizen. Humans, Elvünari, Orek, and Dwarren now coexist in peace at all levels of society, employing their natural talents to benefit the thriving industries that uphold it. Yet beneath the surface of this golden age, trouble brews. The greed of men turns genius into profit, peddling machines of war to the highest bidder. The gaps of disparity between classes and peoples become more and more evident. A dark enemy lurks below the streets of New Errspire. You will take on the roles of soot-hands, steamcrafters, nobles, and outlaws—those determined to make a difference and stand against the threats to your kingdom’s peace. Harness the power of steam with new weapons and contraptions! Genesys RPG is a fascinating and rewarding system that employs unique narrative dice to resolve outcomes. The arguably most famous property that uses its system is the Star Wars Roleplaying Game (now published by Edge studios). I'm originally from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, but I currently live in Tokyo, Japan. I speak English and Japanese, and a little bit of Mandarin. I'm a writer, animator, artist, conlanger, worldbuilder, and GM (as you can probably tell)! I started running tabletop RPGs shortly after trying them for the first time, and I’ve been hooked ever since. There are few experiences more satisfying than running a game and watching the chemistry between characters come alive. We are using custom talent lists and archetypes, so the main rulebooks of Genesys will not necessarily be needed.
What Keilan brings to the table
I use the rules as written as a framework, but rely greatly on the Rule of Cool and common sense to keep the scene moving and the spotlight shifting. My biggest goal is to have each player experience satisfying growth both narratively and mechanically. Don't be surprised if the game isn't run exactly by the books!
