About the adventure

Pathfinder 2nd Edition Adventure Path for all - from Beginner to Veteran. Have fun, learn the game, play the game, have more fun. In an instant, thousands vanished. Those who returned came back with strange powers, but without their memories of that fateful night. Seeking answers, you are gathered together by a wealthy benefactor, Doctor Etward Ritalson to investigate. Under his direction, your party searches the hallowed forests of Sevenarches, finding paranoid townsfolk, voilent druids, and an enigmatic bogeyman pulling the strings from the shadows. Can your party unravel the schemes of this bogeyman? How does an ancient curse relate to your missing memories? And what awaits you next? Characters start at 1st level and progress through the Adventure Path to 11th level.

About me

I've been an on and off GM for a number of years, mainly with Dungeons and Dragons, Ars Magica, Pendragon and, more recently, Pathfinder. Any adventures that I run that are eligible to be reported via Pathfinder Society guidelines will be so done, and players that provide their PFS Organised Play Number will be credited for the module, if applicable under PFS rules.

Character creation

Creating your character

Player Core, Player Core 2, Guns n Gears (remaster), Howl of the Wild, Rage of Elements, Secrets of Magic, War of Immortals, Dark Archive and Battlecry! common and uncommon classes and races, common backgrounds (also see GW Player's Guide), common feats and spells (except where granted from standard class feats, such as Focus Spells). Level 1. There is a Gatewalkers Player's Guide available on the Paizo website that can be used for ideas on skills and feats, as well as new available Backgrounds (not essential). Have an idea of one or two classes that you might like to play, but don't finalise or set your heart on one until Session 0 - a party of 4/5 rogues may be a fun idea, but logistically it's gonna suck! Alternate Rules in use: Deviant Abilities (Dark Archive) obtained for free at character creation, and advanced through the story Free Archetype at level 2 and beyond Progressive Attribute Boosts (1 boost at 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th rather than 4 boosts at 5th, etc.) Milestone level advancement (advance with the story rather than with XP)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Good internet connection and mic. Please be clear of distractions. My Discord has a copy of the Gatewalkers Player's Guide. Please have at least glanced through it before Session 0. You will get an invite to the server when the game is ready to go.

What Steve B UK brings to the table

All current PF2e expansions are available through the VTT interface. Full colour maps for combat. I try to stick to rules as written in combat, but judgement calls are always there for things you might want to do that are out of scope. For everything else, I'm fairly easy on what can and can't be done - give me a good reason to use Acrobatics to decipher the ancient script, and I might let you give it a go...it'll be hard, but hey, there's always a nat 20!

Homebrew rules

Getting up from unconscious allows you to automatically pick up one held item that you dropped (e.g. one weapon that fell out of your hand when you dropped like a sack of potatoes).

Safety

How Steve B UK creates a safe table

Players will receive a copy of the Gatewalkers Player's Guide, which has guidelines on what to expect in the campaign. Issues can be discussed on my Gatewalkers thread or by Direct Message. Session 0 will be for character creation, including detailing of the various extra weird powers each character receives. Party balance will be addressed and any concerns can be voiced as to the tags issued. Should players not wish to voice their concern in public, they can address it in private via Direct Message or via a voice call.
