About the adventure
Discover Waterdeep, the City of Splendors, the city that never sleeps! Everybody is chasing after the keys to epic treasure at the heart of the city. A million gold coins. From the highest noble to the lowliest crime boss - many plots are put into motion and many intrigues are spun. Will you be first to claim these riches? This high fantasy urban campaign takes place in the city of Waterdeep, a sprawling and divers metropolis full of magic and wonders. Players are newcomers to Waterdeep, who get caught up in the hunt for the greatest treasure the city has ever known. This scenario is a loose adaptation of the D&D module Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. It focuses on solving mysteries and city exploration. The play style is heavy on roleplay and light on tactical combat. In this scenario players will: 🤝 Forge alliances and outwit rival factions. 🔎 Solve a murder case dumped at their doorstep. 🐲 Uncover a long lost secret at the heart of the city. 🏚️ Rebuild and run their own city tavern. Some say its haunted. HIGHLIGHTS ✨Learn to play. New system? No problem! I am a patient and passionate teacher. ✨Friendly to all LGBTQ+. I strive for a welcoming and safe table. ✨Immersive atmosphere enhanced by background illustrations and music. ✨Human art by real people. No generative AI in sight.

Creating your character
Creating Your Character We will create characters during Session 0. Players should come up with three rough character outlines. For example: A grizzled warrior on a quest for vengeance! A noble mage on the run from their family! A halfling baker seeking the most delicious recipe ever! During Session 0 you will then settle on the character that is the best fit for the campaign and the rest of the party. See here for more information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mt6UMTsscU The campaign will start at level 1. In Daggerheart your characters are more than just a collection numbers and game mechanics. They have complex personalities, a history that ties them to the world and relations to other player and non-player characters alike. All of these affect gameplay – and the role of the dice. What to expect
Preparing for the session
New to Daggerheart? New to roleplaying games in general? I'll happily show you the ropes. You can also learn about the Daggerheart basics here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bV2K5eoJgk Alchemy VTT We'll be using a virtual tabletop, specifically Alchemy. Of all the programs to play online, Alchemy might well be the easiest to use and the prettiest to look at. Contact me for an individual tutorial. “Those of you who haven’t played with Alchemy before: it is so cinematic, it is so moody, it is so cool.” – Spencer Stark, Daggerheart creator Discord You will need a discord account for communication between games.

There is never just the one “right” solution you need to discover or fail to progress. In Daggerheart you can open any door – and have fun with whatever trouble awaits on the other side. 🧪Immersive and easy online play experience Gorgeous, human-drawn scenes by Czepeku underscored with some catchy tunes and the occasional sound effect. Try it out: https://app.alchemyrpg.com/i/PbQzYm2Hj 🎭Voice Acting I am bringing over a decade of theatre experience to the table. I can portray a diverse cast of characters and bringing them to live with a wide range of voices. 💡Learn-to-play You are new to Daggerheart? I’ll gladly answer all your questions. Daggerheart’s rules are easy to pick up and I am an experienced and patient teacher. Also, in this campaign, I will never have your knowledge of the rules be the limiting factor for your character’s story or development. 🐣 You are new to roleplaying games in general? Hop on in! Daggerheart is easier to learn than D&D, for sure. 🎲🗡️🫀🧪Play Daggerheart on Alchemy before anybody else! But wait, you say! Daggerheart has not released on Alchemy?! That is right, we will be using my custom-made Daggerheart module for the Alchemy client.

How Peter Sapperlot creates a safe table
The internet is dark and full of terrors. I wish to carve out a tiny enclave of safety and inclusion at my table. During a Session 0 we will address expectations and wishes for the campaign. We will also determine topics or tropes players do not want to encounter in their stories, so called Lines (hard boundaries) and Veils (topics that can be implied, but should not be spotlighted). During weekly sessions I will maintain an Open Door Policy. There won’t be any hard feelings or explanations needed, should you ever wish to step away from the table – temporarily or permanently. Furthermore, Alchemy offers an X-card feature. Leaving is a measure of last resort. Preferably, players use the X-card to indicate when something in the narrative makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe. In the middle of every session, there will be short break for everyone to recharge. Before and after every session there will be short check-in, an opportunity for anyone to share how they are holding up – with regards to the game as well as in real life. As a player, I never liked tables where everybody just dashes away after the curtain falls. Sharing, naturally, always remains optional. As part of that aftercare, I will use Stars&Wishes. At the end of each session, players can award a Star to highlight a moment, other player or NPC. I will then encourage everyone to express a Wish, something they would like to see change in future sessions, or an idea they would like to become part of the shared narrative. I strongly believe in trust as the fundamental pillar of any TTRPG table. Without trust creativity can’t flourish, let alone any collaborative storytelling. Therefore, I will always strive to be a patient teacher, an attentive listener and an inclusive, non-judgemental host.
