About the adventure
Auril the Frostmaiden has claimed Icewind Dale, using her power to enchant the land with a terrible curse of perpetual winter. The denizens of Ten-Towns – ten settlements clustered around the lakes at the center of the Dale, nestled between the Spine of the World and the Great Glacier – grow increasingly desperate for a spring which never comes. Survival is a struggle. The lands cry out to be free. When you arrive in this gloom-riven land, you'll discover that the brutal cold of the north has leeched into the hearts of men. Surrounded by darkness, can they be the flame that rekindles the light of hope? Or will you succumb to the horrors that stand before you?

Hello future adventurers! My name is Kyle and I have been a D&D 5e DM for my home games for years. Rules are important but more often than not I am prone to create new ones with group approval or go rule of cool. Very sandbox orientated but the best thing I think I offer is that I am a adaptable DM. If you like more structure I got you covered! Creating your character
We will create the character sheets together at the session zero to ensure everyone is on the same page but I will communicate with all the players beforehand to flesh out backstories and ensure it all is cohesive with the world.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Ensure you have a Roll20 account so you can play the game and a Discord. We will primarily use Roll20's voice system but Discord is good to have as a backup in case of technical difficulties.
What Kyle brings to the table
I provide multiple modules and addons through roll20.net as well as some audio for particular scenes, voices that I either attempt or use my voice changer program for, battle maps, dynamic lighting, and interactive maps. I generally try to stick to Rules as Written but I do employ the Rule of Cool as needed. This is for enjoyment at the end of the day and I am here to ensure you are getting the experience you are paying for. The rules are guidelines and I do follow them until a situation calls for a change. Ultimately it will be a group decision to alter things. My input is not an end all be all and you will have control over this game.
Homebrew rules
All homebrew rules will be decided on at session zero. There will be few forced rules and it will be voted on by the group and the group does reserve the right to override even my preferred way of dming to a point to ensure that my players are getting the experience that they are paying for. You may bring some that I have not heard of as well!
