About the adventure

Play as a hero or warrior from any of the 60 empires in the setting, and hail from any of the five vertical levels of the setting. This campaign takes place in the highest realm in the world, The Atmos. You are warriors from across the layered realms of Abraeas’Dor, answering the call of the allied drakkonic empires in their fight against their elder empire, Draco’Khall. The Draco’Khallians are striking hard and with never before seen aggression, and the empires of the atmos are gearing for a retaliatory invasion. The people of the Atmos have sent down calls for aid from the surface empires and the high cities of Alith, and you have answered the call. The eldest dragons have long attacked those beneath them and around them, their emperor and empress deified and with the longest reign of any lord or ruler, ruling the atmos with brutality for the past 18,000 years. You have been transported to the front lines, bypassing the atmos’s defenses, or come from the many empires of the atmos yourself, and you are joined by the burning, raging, and zealous empire of Borr, the patient and cunning empire of Alith, and the thriving magical societies of the Abirrian empire. Gather your gear, arm your airships, and bring an end to the drakkonic threats while their guard is down and there is still time to strike back. Slay the elder dragons and topple the government, free the humanoids in servitude and bring about a new age of atmossian prosperity.

About me

Hello, all! I’m ApophisRises. I am calling adventurers and players who want to play in roleplay heavy and exploration heavy campaigns, and calling forever dm’s who are looking for a chance to let loose and play again. Beginners and LGTBQA+ players welcome! I have over 10 years of experience in Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition and about 3 years of experience with D&D 3.5e. I have been running games for the past 6 years and have begun to branch into professional DMing. I have two open world settings that enable any quest or journey. I am looking for players who would like to play a few one-shots with me at the helm as a paid D&D experience. I am located in Boston in the EST time zone, but am willing to work with players from different time zones as needed. I have a DnDBeyond Account ready for new players and experienced players to build your characters in, which has content sharing enabled and the vast majority of 5e(2014) content and the players handbook from 5e(2024). All you need to do is make a free account and join the campaign to make your character. We’ll be using a dedicated discord server for these campaigns and one-shots, and there are handouts and details spread throughout the server in designated areas for ease of access and character options. I have multiple shared google docs for both of my settings that are readily available to you, including all you’ll need to build your perfect adventurer. We’ll be using Roll20 for the Virtual Tabletop, and I have a dedicated campaign set up for these games as well. You can request the link when you sign up for the games and stay added to the games listed player roster in case you want to return and play again. I run games that are safe for women, LGBTQA+, POC, new players, and tired dungeon masters. My rules of conduct are posted on the server and are non-negotiable. I am a POC myself and I do not allow bigotry, misogyny, racism, or abuse to exist at my table. I am ready to roll with your crazy plans and I look forward to seeing how you’ll break an encounter. I lean towards the rule of cool, love it when characters surprise me, and I reward DM Inspiration often. All of my games are able to play at higher levels and I am eager to run more 15th-20th level one-shots and 10th-20th level full campaigns. My Settings Include; Tales of Omaterra A world of demigods, heroes, and mythological threats based around Ancient Greek, Ancient Egyptian, and Old Norse mythology. This world is high power, characters can be high level(from 10th-20th level), and has many additional features that will be added to your characters, including additional spells, unique abilities, and added proficiencies into expertise, depending on character creation choices. Be a demigod or a chosen champion of the god of your choosing and drop in and out when you can to fight monsters, gods, titans, and legendary 5e monsters in monster of the week one-shots, or join the grand arenas of Omaterra to chase glory and fame. This setting is for drop in drop out campaigns. Abraeas’Dor Welcome to the world I’ve been developing for the past 10+ years, longer than I’ve been playing TTRPG’s. This world is a great deal larger than Omaterra, and has it’s own lore and deities of my own making. This setting has been a passion project of mine for a very long time. Campaigns and One-Shots in this setting are more in-depth, roleplay heavy, and are more longform with travel and downtime. This setting has darker themes and is less fantastical than Omaterra. Technology and Magic of all levels exists within the setting, which has over 80 planes of existence, and a 500+ page setting doc to go with it. The universe has no shortage of things to do, and the prime mortal plane of Abraeas’Dor is the center of all of the adventures that will occur within the One-Shots, expanding into other regions if desired with the short campaigns of 3-4 sessions. If you are interested in a grittier or more expansive campaign or one-shot, this is the setting for you. Shoot me a message if you are interested in joining up and playing when you can!

What Apophis brings to the table

Voices Done, detailed maps made, open world exploration options, ambient music and full battle and adventure soundtracks, consistent backstory usage, personal arcs for every character, unique items for each player, Rule of Cool is more my style, but if you wish to bend the rules, give me your argument for it and I'll decide to allow it or not. Combat is heavy and intense. Combat tricks and teamwork are both important. Role-players and Combat fanatics can both expect to have their needs met, and the setting does well with both at the same time. Martial characters can expect to have more options, including maneuvers and actions in combat. Casters can expect enough opportunities to fight other mages. You can expect more money, loot, and opportunities to expand your reach than most other campaigns. When you sit at my table, I expect all to be LGBTQA+ Friendly, and I do not tolerate bigotry in my games. You can expect me to respect your boundaries. You can expect me to make sure you're having a good time and feel safe playing. If at any point you aren't feeling the best about your character, talk to me and we can work something out. You can expect personal story arcs, detailed events regarding your character, and opportunities for every character to shine at what they do best. You can expect rewards and dm inspiration for clever plans and good roleplay.

Safety

How Apophis creates a safe table

I have my own list of house rules and do's and don'ts inside the discord server and will go over my table rules in session zero. PvP is banned, including charming or enchanting your teammates, unless both party members verbally agree to whatever outcome might occur. If one is hesitant, the PvP does not happen. I go over and ask what subjects the party members do not want to see, and I never bring children into the world events or explicitly mention them in disastrous circumstances or situations where harm might befall them. SA never occurs in my games, no matter how evil an empire or villain is, and anyone who attempts to do anything related to SA is given one warning before being removed. When I get players in the server, I will use callouts and private sections of the server for players so they can ask questions out of the public channels if they are afraid to say anything publicly. My greatest priorities are player fun and player safety, for all players at the table. My X, N, and O's are digital or messaged, as I do not require people to have their cameras on. I keep my private messages open on my discord while running the game so all private messages can be seen immediately and proper measures can be taken to avoid the uncomfortable topics.
