About the adventure
(First Session is Free!!) MARCIILIAN: FAITH, FIRE, AND THE COST OF SALVATION The Bethelian Empire does not send Crusaders lightly. When its banners arrive in Marcilian—a distant colonial settlement at the edge of empire—it is because something has gone terribly wrong. Reports speak of heresy, disappearances, false miracles, and faiths that refuse to name their gods. The Chapel of Light still stands, but its prayers are strained. The land itself feels… watchful. You are not sent to explore—you are sent to purify, to judge, and if necessary, to burn. This campaign is a gothic, morally gray horror-fantasy where righteousness is not synonymous with goodness, and monsters are not always the worst thing in the room. Marcilian sits at the crossroads of warring pantheons: angelic doctrine, primordial nature, demonic bargains, and something older and quieter beneath them all. The Empire’s crusade against heresy has pushed druids into exile, driven “monsters” into the Dark Wilds, and taught the people to hide their prayers. As Crusaders, you arrive believing the truth is already known—only to discover that every answer fractures into deeper, uglier questions. This is a game for players who enjoy consequence-driven roleplay, slow-burn dread, and choices that linger. Combat is brutal and meaningful, but it is never the whole story. Enemies bargain. Villains pray. Saints make mistakes. You may save a city only to doom a faith. You may uphold doctrine and shatter something sacred—or defy your orders and risk becoming the very heretics you were sent to destroy. The line between salvation and damnation is thin here, and crossing it is frighteningly easy. The tone blends Victorian gothic horror, religious paranoia, and colonial tragedy. Expect echoes of Dracula, The Witch, Bloodborne, and Darkest Dungeon, layered over classic high fantasy. Body horror exists, but it serves theme, not shock. Faith is powerful—but never simple. Divine magic works, yet the gods themselves argue, scheme, and fear what comes next. Angels may fall. Demons may bargain for peace. Nature itself may rise to judge all sides if pushed too far.

About me
Hello there, my name is Robert. I became a DM in 2018 for a group of coworkers after being inspired by Stranger Things and playing at my local comic shop. From there I started to DM online for long distance friends. This whole time building my own world with its own stories to tell. Different monsters, Gods, and a place where everyone could tell a story. So, let me show you what's possible is this dark and mysterious world.

Creating your character
During Session Zero, we will conduct character creation. Here's what to expect: - Character Stats: Roll four dice, drop the lowest. You have one Mulligan, which allows you to reroll four dice, drop the lowest, and you must use the new result. - Extra Feat: Each character receives an additional feat, on top of any feats granted by class or race. - Homebrew Options: You'll have access to custom character races and subclasses created for this campaign. If you have questions or would like to discuss your character, please reach out. Looking forward to seeing you on Session Zero.

What Robert brings to the table
I am a professional Game Master specializing in immersive, story-driven tabletop RPGs where player choice genuinely shapes the world. My campaigns are built to feel alive—factions evolve, NPCs remember you, and consequences carry forward session to session. This is not a “railroad” experience, nor a chaotic free-for-all. It is a carefully curated narrative where your decisions matter. My games focus on meaningful roleplay, dangerous but fair combat, and cohesive long-term storytelling. Combat is tactical and cinematic, with intelligent enemies, dynamic environments, and real stakes. Victory is earned through teamwork, preparation, and smart decision-making—not just lucky dice. Failure is treated as a narrative tool, not a punishment. As a paid GM, I bring structure, reliability, and preparation to every session. Games start on time, sessions are fully planned, and player investment is respected. I provide clear expectations, consistent rulings, and open communication. New players are welcome, and experienced players will find depth, challenge, and respect for the system. Tone-wise, my tables lean toward dark fantasy, moral tension, and grounded realism, balanced with moments of humanity and earned humor. This is a table where characters are shaped by hardship, victories leave scars, and survival often comes at a cost. Humor arises naturally from play but never undermines the stakes of the world. I place a strong emphasis on player agency and safety. Session Zero tools are used to establish boundaries, themes, and expectations. Everyone at the table deserves to feel comfortable, respected, and heard. Collaboration and mutual respect are non-negotiable. What sets my games apart is investment. I integrate character backstories into the world, tailor plot threads to player goals, and ensure each character has moments to shine. If you bring curiosity and engagement, I will meet you with depth, preparation, and follow-through. This game is best suited for players who: Want a consistent, long-term experience with a committed GM Enjoy story-heavy campaigns with real consequences Value roleplay, teamwork, and immersion Appreciate clear rules and fair adjudication This game may not be a good fit if you are looking for: Pure power fantasy with no risk Joke-heavy or meme-first play Drop-in, low-commitment sessions
