About the adventure
Whether you're a seasoned planewalker, a canny Cager, or a clueless sod stranded on the far side of a portal in an unfamiliar city, the hand-written invitation reads the same: "Opportunity awaits! Tomorrow, two bells after peak: The Friendly Fiend, at the corner of Berk's Lane and Bloodgem Road, Lower Ward. Come prepared to travel out of town on short notice." You thumb one edge of the note you received yesterday, delivered by personal courier. Honest work for decent pay has proven hard to find in Sigil; your pockets have been light for a week, and they're getting lighter. The fastest path out of the gutter has always been risk for reward: Traverse your portal, accomplish your mission, and get home safe to collect your pay. There's at least no harm in learning about the offer, right? You shoulder the pack holding all of your worldly belongings, pull up the hood of your cloak, and step out into the rain.... *** System: D&D 5e (2014 and 2024 rules both viable) Setting: The Planescape multiverse as written in the original boxed sets (no familiarity necessary) Tone: High-Stakes Pulp Fantasy My sessions are: 🎲 Beginner friendly, open to all ages and levels of RPG experience 🎲 Roleplay heavy, giving every character their moments in the spotlight 🎲 Theater of the mind, relying on vivid descriptions and a narrative flexing to your input Be ready for: 🎲 An immersive setting sprawling as far as the mind's eye can see 🎲 NPCs with their own motivations, brought to life by a vocal performer 🎲 Thorny negotiations, problem solving, and pulse-pounding action scenes We will begin with a "Session Zero" to create characters, including some light roleplaying to establish the party dynamics. A short adventure path will develop and resolve over the following two sessions depending on the decisions you make in gameplay!

About me
Hey, folks! I'm Stix (he/they), a lifelong fantasy nerd and experienced full-time game master. As a performer and a content creator, I've engaged audiences both virtually and in person for over a quarter century, and nowhere have I enjoyed it more than when collaborating on a great session at the gaming table. My latest project, "The Living Multiverse," is comprised of a number of campaigns in a shared setting (resembling a large West Marches campaign). Stories will intertwine, party lineups can overlap, and your every action can have consequences reaching into other planes of existence.

Creating your character
Our first session will be mostly collaborative character creation and preparation. All established D&D content is on the table, plus a selection of approved homebrew! Together, we will build a party of first-level characters using tools available through D&D Beyond.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need the following: 🎲 Discord account 🎲 D&D Beyond account 🎲 Computer/Laptop (phone will do in a pinch) 🎲 Microphone (headphones recommended) We will play over video and voice chat on Discord!
What Stix brings to the table
I'm setting the virtual table with: 🎲 A story with a clear goal but a railroad-free narrative, shaped by your decisions 🎲 Exploration of the weirdest and most dangerous corners of the D&D multiverse 🎲 NPCs with rich personalities, independent motivations, and unique voices 🎲 Meaningful roleplaying centered on your characters 🎲 Problem solving and moral dilemmas 🎲 Combat, chases, and races against time
Homebrew rules
I lean toward the "gritty realism" optional rule - short rests require either the comforts of civilization or a mostly-undisturbed night of sleep, and long rests are for between adventures. Prepare accordingly!

How Stix creates a safe table
During Session Zero, we will discuss the use of X, N, and O cards. Breaks will be offered during sessions. Players are always encouraged to call out awesome moments and affirm their table-mates. Bigotry is not a toy, and we don't play with it even on a fictional level at my tables.
