About me
I've GMed off and on for about a decade. Mostly over Discord and Role 20. I've run systems like Star Trek Adventures, Mothership, Cyber Punk Red, and Patfhinder 1st, and 2nd Edition. I've also been on the other side of the table for D&D 5E and even D&D 3rd edition when I was a tiny little guy. Outside of TTRPG I'm a game developer with a focus on level design. I'm nerdy about spatial relationships, game systems (I compulsively collect TTRPG books, and buy steam games just to analyze their mechanics). In the TTRPG space I like to think about player engagement, choice, and how they come through in a narrative or simulationist game system. Player choice and safety are at the top of my priority list. As such, I view GMing as facilitating the player's story. This is aided by years of customer facing experience. I will admit I'm coming back from a break in GMing so I have some confidence to build and rust to shake off. However, if you're looking for someone who is committed to consistent, quality experiences for your clients then that's me. I have a humble, growth mindset, and I don't let my experience get in the way of communicating or learning. If anything, learning new systems and about people is my drug of choice.

Creating your character
Upon sign up, you will select a pre-generated, level 1, character. I'll go over some basics, and clarify anything you need, but you'll mostly learn as you play. If you really want to make a new character, we can do that, but I recommend picking a pre-gen to start.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need Discord, and foundry/forge VTT.
What Patrick brings to the table
I will provide an interactive module with music, Pathfinder knowledge, and an inclusive DMing style. If you want to learn Pathfinder, this is your place. I will provide pre generated characters, but I'm also very open to helping you make your own character for this game. Because this is a learning game we'll be sticking to the rules as closely as possible, without ruining the fun. For Example: Did you have a bad roll and your character is dead?... okay, we just learned about death. Here are some hit points so we can keep playing and you can keep learning Pathfinder. I try not to do voices, because I'm bad at them, and I'm not an actor. Sometimes I'll lapse and make Kobold sounds. I'm working with my doctor on that. :D You can expect this game to be conversational. I will be listening to you, and trying to make sure you have a good time. After all, if you're here you've enough to worry about learning a new system. I want to make this as easy and enjoyable for you as possible. If you want to make your own character, as I said that's fine. However because this is a learning experience, I do request that your class be one of the basic ones in the Player Core or Player Core 2. I do this because the other books add a lot and we're here to teach you how to play. That gets complicated if it becomes Mythic character progression, how to play, and summoner rules.
Homebrew rules
We'll be sticking to the rules, provided they don't ruin the game. As an example: If your character dies-- Well, we'll learn about character death, I'll give your character some hit points and we'll move on.

Safety
How Patrick creates a safe table
You deserve to have a good time. In our session zero, we'll discuss safety, and topics. I tend to air on the side of caution. I use Lines and Veils, x cards, breaks, open door and the afore mentioned session zero. If something makes you uncomfortable, I really want to know. Did you forget that you're scared of giant rats and we get to the giant rat part? Don't sweat. We'll take a break, make changes, and be diligent about after care. You're an important part of this game, and I'm responsible for the game and client experience.
