About the adventure
In the small town of Otari, everyone knows the story of Belcorra Haruvex. An evil sorceress from an age ago, she was defeated by local heroes who founded the town and its legacy. However, some have noticed a shimmering light on the horizon at night. Something has awoken in the mist. It is up to a new age of heroes to delve into the ruins and stop the horrible plots meant to change the world. Welcome to Abomination Vaults, a dungeon-delving adventure into a huge megadungeon with colorful characters, deadly battles and a deep-seeded evil rising to the surface. Will you answer the call? In this adventure, there will be ample opportunities for: - death defying battles against unique creatures - arcane lore dating back hundreds of years - navigating the deep tunnels of a thriving dungeon - fun, insane and creepy characters with dubious motives - a chance to save a town from a terrible fate Since this is a dungeon crawl, you will move at your own pace. Return to town to make sense of what you've found, buy new gear and meet those who have made their home in Otari. But always know that the dungeon is not static. When you return, it will have changed based on what you've done, who you've met and what dangers you've uncovered. Be brave, adventurers, and delve into the Abomination Vaults!

About me
Looking for the low-level to high-level campaign that you've never been able to complete? Hi! My name is Eli and I'm a professional dungeon master. I run long-term campaigns with a heavy emphasis on roleplay and challenging combat. I like games where you really get to know your character and the world around you, but also feel powerful and engaged when swords flash and magic erupts. My preferred system is Pathfinder 2e, but most of my experience is with Pathfinder 1e and D&D 5th edition. I also put a focus on memorable NPCs -- people with distinctive voices built by their background and worldview. That goes double for antagonists; you will love to hate the enemies that stand in your way. But the game is about your characters. Every game that I GM should feel like the characters already live in the world and their background has affected how the world reacts to them. Even in pre-published adventures, your character changes everything. And I always place player enjoyment first. This is your game: you should feel empowered, included and accepted no matter who you are. So, what do you say? Want to go on an adventure?

Creating your character
This game will utilize Dungeons and Dragons 5e (2014) for character creation with Tasha's Cauldron of Everything and Xanathar's Guide to Everything as open options. Anything outside of those books will need to be approved by the GM. Character creation will take place during Session Zero, but feel free to ask questions if necessary. Ability scores will be generated using 4d6 drop the lowest and choose where you would like to put them. If the total of your scores is less than 72, you will have the ability to reroll but you must reroll all of your scores.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
When you join the game, you will be given access to the Discord server and should be given a link to the Forge VTT website where the game will be played. Both of these are free accounts that will just give you access to where we will meet for each session. Once you have access to the Discord server, you will also have access to the DND Beyond campaign where you can build your character. This will not be required since all the materials needed to build your character will also be in Foundry, but will allow you to import your character.
What Elijah brings to the table
As this is a dungeon crawl, I will get you acquainted with both the dungeon and the town outside as you will be spending the vast majority of the campaign in these two places. In my games, I always provide music and character voices. The music is a curated list from Tabletop RPG Music and Tabletop Audio. The voices are meant to provide instantly recognizable characters. One of my top priorities as a GM is providing a sense of immersion so that all you have to worry about is playing your character and delving into the dungeon. Rulings in my games are always meant to bridge the gap between staying true to the fiction and being true to both your character and your intent. Everyone is here to have fun and no one should lose sight of that. If you have a cool idea, voice it!
Homebrew rules
Here are a few of the homebrew rules we will be using for this game: - Low Light Vision: Darkvision has not changed. We will just refer to it as Low Light Vision since it is more in line with how darkvision actually works. - Expanded Exhaustion: We will be using 10 levels of exhaustion rather than 6. For each level of exhaustion, characters will receive a -1 penalty to all d20 rolls and DCs. In addition, a character can use Lesser Restoration to remove 1 level of exhaustion once per 24 hours. This will mostly be handled by the system in Foundry. - Intellect Points: At character creation, any character with a positive bonus to Intelligence can use points to add extra proficiencies. - Bonus Action Potions: Anyone who takes a potion can do so as a bonus action. If you are feeding a potion to another character, that takes an action. - Flanking: Anyone who flanks an enemy gains a +2 to their attack roll rather than advantage. This does stack if you gain advantage from another source.

How Elijah creates a safe table
Respect is the number one rule at all of my tables. Everyone should feel welcome. Anyone found to be making other players feel unwelcome will be removed. We all come here to have fun. 🌈 In Session Zero, we will go over the overarching themes of the campaign and what you can expect. The X card will be available through Foundry. I will also distribute a document for players to complete about what they are comfortable with at the table.
