About the adventure

You will begin this adventure in the port city of Brinehold, deep in the Solvornn Peaks. A city built from wrecks, rumours, and stubbornness, Brinehold holds many secrets and plays host to a collection of crime families. You will start in the underbelly of this rough and salty city before gaining your sea legs and sailing the nearby waters. Be careful, though. Something dangerous lurks below the surface. Will you survive long enough to save the city, or will your fear take you to safer shores? This campaign takes place in my custom world of Averis, where your choices leave lasting impacts on the world. As the story unfolds, Averis will grow and change in response to your actions. Explore distant lands, uncover deep lore and forgotten history, solve custom puzzles, or carve your name into legend by sword or magic. The world is yours to shape. How will it remember you?

About me

Hi everyone, I'm ZanDood but you can also call me Alex! I have been running Dungeons and Dragons games for the past few years, and have been playing in other campaigns as well since early 2021. I primarily run a homebrew setting that I have been extensively building out over the past few years. My main focus in game is making sure everyone has fun, and that the experience is tailored to the players at the table. I love to help new players learn the game and explore their creativity.

Character creation

Creating your character

This adventure will begin at LEVEL 1 and you will start with 1 Uncommon Magic Item. We will be using Dungeons and Dragons 5e (2014) rules. - All official books are allowed, just make sure it is using 2014 rules. - Ability Scores: Rolled - See Character Creation Guide after joining - Multiclassing and Feats are allowed. - HP increases: Roll or Average. Once you join, a Character Creation document will be sent over with some basic world lore, character creation guidelines, and a form for questions I'd like to know about your character before we start. If you join after the first session, we will touch base before the game for a quick call to get you set up.

Preparing for the session

Players should have: - Headset/Mic - Discord Account - D&D Beyond Account I will add you to the D&D Beyond campaign and then import the characters into Foundry from there. If you want to make the character ahead of time, that is cool. Otherwise we can go over it in Session 0.

What ZanDood brings to the table

NEW PLAYER FRIENDLY - This campaign is a great way for new players to get comfortable with D&D 5e. Starting from Level 1 you can get the core understanding of what your character can do, without there being too many complications. With custom stories, maps, and QOL House Rules, my goal is to make the game as enjoyable as possible while still allowing room for challenges to overcome. I favour the Rule of Cool and am always open to hearing a creative approach, but I keep some limitations to avoid it getting too far outside of RAW. With this in mind, we do stick to Milestone levelling so you can focus on navigating the world how you see fit, and getting rewarded for more than killing enemies. Because I created and designed the world myself, all region maps and likely all battlemaps will be created custom for this campaign. This also allows me more freedom to add fun challenges or obstacles to combat encounters to keep things exciting and interesting. As we navigate the campaign together, I put a focus on the elements that my players prefer, so please be vocal about what you like/dislike. We will keep a Stars/Wishes chat for the campaign and posting there after a session will get you a free inspiration for our next session.
