About the adventure
Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden was originally published in 2020, and takes the players to the Ten-Towns of Icewind Dale and Beyond. Auril, the Frostmaiden and goddess of winter's wrath, has subjected the lands north of the Spine of the World to an everlasting winter. The players will first visit the Ten-Towns, testing their mettle against the icy north while facing numerous challenges and learning of the struggles of those who call this region home. As the party assists the Ten-Towners with various objectives and quests, they will gain reputation through the region as stories of their exploits spread. But be warned, some towns hold fierce rivalries with one another, and assisting one without assisting another might turn that reputation into one of disdain rather than praise! As the adventure continues, the party will later venture from the Ten-Towns to the regions beyond as other threats and challenges arise, including a plot for the destruction of the Ten-Towns by mysterious forces from deep within the Spine of the World! Will the party save the Ten-Towns from impending doom? Or perhaps even free them from this everlasting winter? That remains up to you, the party to decide! The consequences of the actions to take will have an impact on how the story evolves! Session zero activities will be handled at zero-cost to you as a player.

About me
I am a moderately experienced DM who has participated and run games using Dungeons & Dragons 5e (2014) and Tales of the Valiant rulesets since 2019. I am an especially enthusiastic fan of Third-Party Published materials (following review for balance of course). While I have historically run live-play tables in person, I aim to bring the same level of care and attention to any game I run. I am eager to assist in helping my players find a groove for their character regardless of their preferred playstyle.

Creating your character
This campaign will be strictly using 5e 2014 rulesets. Please reference the following guidelines for character creation: Ability Scores: The method you will use to create your character's Ability Scores will be Standard Array or Point Buy (27 points) as described in the Players Handbook (5th Edition 2014). Hit Points/Hit Dice: At level-up, you will either roll a digital dice or take the rounded up average for the dice (i.e., 4 for d6, 5 for d8, 6 for d10, etc.). Character Creation Resources: For every player, they are allowed to use the following to create their character (as applicable and desired): Players Handbook (2014) Xanathar's Guide to Everything Tasha's Cauldron of Everything Variant Human: Variant Human as contained in the Players Handbook (2014) is not permitted. Variant Lineage/Races: If you intend to do a variant of any race, please use the Custom Lineage rules described in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything page 8. Third-Party Content and Unearthed Arcana: I am very much open to the use of Third-Party Content and Unearthed Arcana only after I have either reviewed it or previously approved it. Use of either Third-Party Content or Unearthed Arcana counts as your "one additional resource" permitted for Character Creation. Subclass Restrictions: I do not allow or otherwise have restrictions the following subclasses or multiclass combinations: - Peace Domain Cleric - Sorcerer multiclassing with Warlock or Paladin. - Paladin multiclassing with Cleric, Sorcerer, or Warlock. - Cleric multiclassing with Paladin or Warlock. Silvery Barbs: Silvery Barbs cannot be taken as a prepared/known spell before a player reaches 3rd Level in any spellcasting class to which it is ordinarily available.
Please note that Table A sessions will occur on the first and third Friday of each month. No games will be held on a fifth Friday unless otherwise stated and/or arranged to occur.

What Jacoby brings to the table
It is my goal to bring the best gaming experience that I can possibly provide you, the player, that I possibly can. I aim to bring all of my experience and talent that I can muster to ensure that my games are engaging, exciting, and more than anything else something that you feel is worth the investment to participate in. I am open to discuss desires for all players and to incorporate them as much as I am able to while meeting all other player
Homebrew rules
I am extremely open to homebrew and third-party content at my table provided I am given sufficient opportunity to review, revise, and approve (or deny if needed) homebrew and third-party content. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me to discuss ideas or to provide feedback on homebrew that is incorporated so that I can make this the best experience possible! I myself as DM will be using additional resources from third-party publishers such as Taron 'Indestructoboy' Pounds, DMsGuild, and previous editions of D&D to help flush out the world of Icewind Dale and fill it with additional information where I find information useful to making the world fill more full and lively. As such, please be aware that I might not have a "perfect" understanding, interpretation, and/or portrayal of the world of the Forgotten Realms as I adjust the campaign.

How Jacoby creates a safe table
Content warnings have been marked in advance upon review of the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden content as written and interpreted by the DM. They are not guaranteed to occur, and adjustments will be made as deemed appropriate. I ask that initially upon joining the table, you review the pre-marked content warnings and message me anything that you are not comfortable with. Please note that the majority of these topics are subjects I either have encountered in session preparation or through previous experiences with the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign module, and there may be additional content that I have yet to encounter. That being said, they are not hard-guarantees to occur, and I will adjust the module as needed. Please do not hesitate to me at any time to help me understand how to make my table safe and comfortable--I truly do care about making sure that you are able to enjoy the game I am running free of any subject matters which do not make you feel safe or comfortable. Understand that in order for me to competently do so, I must be made aware of content that you the player are uncomfortable with as soon as possible. I will treat any information as confidential and will not divulge sensitive information to any other party at the table. As well as if it is a Line (which cannot be crossed) or a Veil (which can be approached, but with limitations). I may inquire additionally regarding anything which is a Veil--please understand that as I do so it is not to be invasive, but rather to ensure that I have as competent of an understanding as possible for the limitations which need to be put in place regarding that subject matter. I have done my best to mark what content warnings for the existing module I have personally observed as I have previously run and/or played in the Icewind Dale campaign setting. The content warnings I have placed on my campaign are not hard-guarantees for something that will occur, as I will do everything in my power to tailor the adventure to remove content that players are uncomfortable or otherwise not willing to approach as it is brought to my attention. If at any stage you are uncomfortable with something that is occurring mid-session, do not hesitate to message me directly. This can be through the X/N/O system or through a more direct and verbose message. Finally--if there is a specific safety system you have previously used that you'd like to see incorporated at my table, please do not hesitate to request that I use it. I will do my best to research and incorporate it into my table!
