About the adventure

The Prince’s tax collectors were due back from the quiet town of Bellicosia weeks ago—yet none have returned. Troubling rumors drift in from the border: abandoned farms, families gone without a trace, and a strange illness whispered about by travelers brave enough to pass near the quarantined zone. In response, the Prince, wishing to protect his people, dispatched a skilled physician to aid the town and assess the situation. Since then, Bellicosia has remained silent. Now you and a band of fellow adventurers—loyal officials, hired experts, wandering do-gooders, or ambitious contractors—have been chosen to investigate. Once you cross the quarantine line, you will not be permitted to leave until your mission is complete. Some blame a curse. Others mutter that the Prince’s recently legalized, tightly regulated necromancy has upset the balance of things. Fear flourishes where information does not.

About me

Hi! My name is Chris. I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs, primarily Dungeons & Dragons, for 4 years and have 3 years of experience as a Game Master. I enjoy creating collaborative, player-focused sessions where everyone’s voice is heard and valued. I run both homebrew worlds and traditional adventures, with a focus on giving players the freedom to explore, roleplay, and make meaningful choices. I prioritize the players’ experience, providing personalized lore for each character to help them immerse themselves in the world and stand out at the table. My style emphasizes fun, creativity, and collaboration. I believe in the rule of cool—if it makes the game more enjoyable for the group, I’m flexible with the rules. Sessions are chill but engaging, with a balanced mix of roleplay, problem-solving, and tactical combat. Every player’s story matters, and I aim to create memorable experiences for the whole table.

Character creation

Creating your character

you will need dnd beyond character sheet or equivalent to keep track of your character. we use point buy for stats. i offer one on one character creation. this is a discord call where we will go through character creation. if this isnt to your liking i also have a text doc with character creation rules for this homebrew setting.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

you will need access to discord and roll20, if you dont know how to use roll20 i will teach you how to use it during the personal pre session/session 0 before the campaign begins. we will be communicating in a discord server vc for communication aswell as a stream for music.

What chris: goblin approved gm brings to the table

i have a stream open using music which i change depending on the scene. i have homebrew rules surrounding combat to make it more dynamic. i have roll20 maps made for RP and combat. i volunteer 1 page of lore your character would know about the world based on there background, this is written before session 1 for all players. i have a discord for players to chat and different channels to organise there things.

Homebrew rules

i run homebrew rules for combat since all my combat is done on roll20. this is to make fights feel less like pokemon slap fights and more like epic battles (i dont like normal dnd combat) for example the ability to avoid and give opportunity attacks are features i give alot of monsters as by default monsters dont give opportunity attacks in my games. in the same way many of them are able to avoid opportunity attacks. this will be discussed during session 0
