About the adventure
This introductory one-shot into the land of Barovia and the stories of Ravenloft is meant for a small group of adventurers to discover the mysteries of The Death House. A new place filled with fog, with no natural sunlight to bear it's path, you must decide how your character will emerge from the house. This one-shot is designed as a small dungeon crawl meant to take characters from first level all the way to third.

About me
My dad brought me up playing D&D, and being the only kid in my school who played all throughout high school I was "the GM". I ran weekly games at a local game store where anyone could hop in and we would have some fun! During college I took a small break from running games, but for the past year I've been back at it! TTRPG's are about a collaborative experience - a story that's never been written that is dependent and open to the players and DM. in turn, there needs to be mutual respect and care given to one another throughout play, whether that be interpersonal or about rules!

Creating your character
Characters will be made before the first session, they will be first level D&D 5E characters from the core rule book, and can be made through D&D Beyond or by hand. Stats will be done with the 4d6 method (take the three highest numbers and add them together). If you have questions about character creations, please feel free to reach out!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before session, please make a Roll20 and Discord account! If you already have them, reach out to me on Discord so I can add you on Roll20!
What Maya brings to the table
Expect some voices, as Death House has some NPC's, and a lot of investigating. There will be some combat, which may become intense, as well as leveling up during sessions!
Homebrew rules
Always round up, DM has final say (but please contest rules!), flanking for all (including enemies), critical hits have the option to roll twice the damage or double it (but must call it before rolling), and you can use one of your actions to ask something specific about whatever you're fighting, but the DC will be different depending on several things!

How Maya creates a safe table
Before session I will send each player something to fill out, and during session we will go over the X, N, & O rules, which will be DMed to me if needed to keep everyone anonymous. After session we will debrief, go over what went right, what went wrong, what could have gone better for me, and any additions to make it better for next time!
