About the adventure
Hlidgard is a world of fractured realities — a realm where remnants of countless worlds collided when the Weave was damaged three hundred years ago. Ancient empires lie in ruins, new powers rise from the chaos, and the lines between magic, faith, and technology blur. Every choice you make ripples through history and reshapes the balance between the worlds. This campaign blends tactical, cinematic combat with political intrigue, exploration, and moral consequence. You’ll navigate a living world filled with shifting alliances, mysteries of the Gates, and the ever-present threat of what lies beyond them. Expect weighty decisions, layered storytelling, and characters that evolve with every session — for better or worse. Whether you’re a veteran seeking meaningful roleplay and strategic depth, or a newer player eager to step into a world that feels alive and reactive, Hlidgard will test your wits, your will, and your ideals. The question isn’t just can you survive the convergence — it’s what will you become in the aftermath?

Meet the Game Master
About me
I’ve been a Dungeon Master for over a decade, building worlds where grit, glory, and consequence collide. My games blend tactical combat, layered politics, and immersive storytelling — a place where every player choice echoes through the world. I specialize in open-world high fantasy settings that reward curiosity and strategic thinking. Whether your party seeks ancient relics in sunken ruins, navigates court intrigues among rival kingdoms, or carves a name in the blood and gold of the frontier, my goal is the same: to make every session feel cinematic, alive, and uniquely yours. I use improv and detailed worldbuilding to adapt each session to your group’s personality and decisions — no rails, no filler. Beginners are welcome, veterans are respected, and everyone has a role to play in shaping the story. Systems supported: D&D One, 5e, and 3.5e (with homebrew support). Join me if you want your campaign to feel like a living world — where every ally, enemy, and treasure tells a story worth remembering.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation happens in Session 0, where we’ll tie your backstories directly into the setting. Starting Level: 4 (heroes with some experience but room to grow) Stats: Point Buy or Standard Array Allowed Sources: All official 5e material; homebrew by approval Tone: Your character’s history can reflect the world’s turmoil — refugees from collapsed realms, heirs to fallen empires, or wanderers shaped by the Cataclysm aftermath, or he could be a simple farmer, we'll make it work. We’ll collaborate to ensure your character belongs to this world and that their personal story has room to shine.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should: Have a Discord account for voice and text communication. Join the campaign’s Discord server (invite provided after booking). Have a Roll20 account and a working mic. Create a Roll20 character sheet (optional but encouraged for ease of use). No special downloads or paid content needed — just bring curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to build something together.
What Fokas brings to the table
Expect a cinematic, story-rich campaign with attention to both tactical combat and emotional stakes. Immersive narration and Silly NPC voices Custom maps and music Rule of Cool applied thoughtfully — creativity is rewarded, but stakes remain real Every encounter, from duels to diplomacy, carries real consequences that shape the story and the world
Homebrew rules
Potions can be drunk as a bonus action. Crits deal maximum damage + roll (no “meh” critical hits). Fumbles: rolling a natural 1 in high-stakes moments may trigger narrative complications (not just failure). Milestone leveling instead of XP. Death saves are tracked privately for tension. We start of with the basics and as the game proceeds we may add more homebrew rules together when needed

Safety
How Fokas creates a safe table
Player comfort and collaboration come first. We use Lines & Veils and X/N/O cards (digital or via chat) to ensure boundaries are respected. Session 0 establishes tone, consent, and individual comfort levels. After every major session, I hold a quick aftercare debrief — what worked, what didn’t, what to adjust. No discrimination, no toxicity — only shared storytelling.
