About the adventure
The zipcraft roars to life and tears into the sky before the cockpit dome fully seals. You push the thrusters to full. Yeah, it’s a waste of fuel, but if you land this bounty before the other Cowboys, you’ll have more than enough Woolongs to refuel… and maybe finally outrun your past. Jupiter looms over Ganymede’s evening sky as your ship streaks toward the port city of Marvis. Behind an abandoned warehouse, you spot it: the rusted zipcraft you’ve been hunting. The intel was right. Then the trap springs. Dark shapes rise from the docks. Syndicate MONOs - five of them - closing fast. They were waiting. This bounty wasn’t just bait… it was meant for you! Your hand hovers over the throttle. Run or face what’s been chasing you all this time. You pull your goggles down, grin, and arm the guns. “Whatever happens, happens…” --- Using the official Cowboy Bebop Roleplaying Game by Mana Project Studio, you will star in your own anime series as an original bounty hunter burdened by the weights of their past. You chase down the wanted to keep yourself fed and your ship spaceworthy. But sometimes the more you learn about a bounty, the more you begin to question who the real bad guys are. This game features: ・High-speed action, bounty hunting, and criminal intrigue. ・Character-driven stories inspired by Cowboy Bebop. ・Style, improvisation, and hard choices over tactical crunch. This game is FOR players who: ・Enjoy narrative-driven, character-focused roleplaying. ・Like improvisation, cinematic action, and stylish problem-solving. ・Are comfortable making hard choices and living with the consequences. ・Want to collaborate to create an episodic, anime-style story. ・Value tone, mood, and story over mechanical optimization. This game is NOT FOR players who: ・Prefer tactical combat, grid-based play, or heavy rules mastery. ・Want to “win” every encounter or avoid character setbacks. ・Dislike shared spotlight or collaborative storytelling. If that sounds like your thing, "Let's jam!" --- The game will be played over Zoom so a microphone is required and a webcam is preferred but not necessary. Roll20 will be used for dice rolling, handouts, trackers, and some visual assets. However, the images are only for inspiration; the game itself is played in Theater of the Mind. Discord will also be used to both organize the game and to exchange direct messages during the game when necessary.

About me
My journey with roleplaying games began in the mid-90s when a friend invited me to play D&D 2e with her group. I had only ever heard the name Dungeons and Dragons so it was exciting to see what it was all about. The liberation of playing a game constrained only by the limits of imagination was exhilarating and I fell in love immediately. Not long after that, another friend invited me to try the d6 Star Wars roleplaying game. Playing in the world of my favorite movie series solidified my love for TTRPGs and I couldn't get enough. I wanted to play more than my friend was able to host, so I had to take matters into my own hand: I bought the rulebook and learned how to be a Game Master. While I was a little disappointed that I couldn't play at first, I soon discovered that being a GM fit well with my innate love of storytelling. The pandemic led me to run some games online for friends around the globe to help them deal with those stressful days. It also introduced me to Star Trek Adventures, which became my favorite system of all time. My love for STA compelled me to start a YouTube channel to hype it and that eventually led to me being hired by Modiphius as a contributing writer for Star Trek Adventures. So now not only do I get to keep running the game I love, I also get to create content for it to be used by players around the world. It's a great feeling and keeps me motivated to constantly improve my craft. NOTE: I live in Japan, which puts me in an awkward time zone for people in the Americas and Europe. I will respond to any messages as quickly as possible but please be aware that I may be sleeping during your normal daylight hours.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation is extremely simple, but VERY different than most mainstream RPGs. The best way to prepare is to visualize your character. -What do they wear? -What is their hair like? -Do they have any special item they always use? -Any talent or skill? This image is what matters most in character creation. In Cowboy Bebop RPG, it's not style over substance; it's style IS substance. I will provide form-fillable PDF character sheets that I have created along with instructions and information before Session 0. We can work on completing the details on the community Discord but if there are any lingering issues, we can put on the finishing touches during Session 0. Pregen characters from the Quickstart will be available if necessary.

What Bill - The Final Frontiersmen brings to the table
As the Game Master, I bring nearly 30 years of experience running a wide variety of roleplaying systems. I focus on improvisation and adapting the story to player choices, keeping the game dynamic and the world feeling alive. A dedicated Discord server will be provided for the campaign, with channels for discussion, roleplay, and organization, as well as private messaging during sessions when needed. Visual assets related to each episode will be used to enhance immersion. All necessary handouts and reference materials will be available through Roll20 or Discord. My approach to the rules is flexible and player-focused. Cowboy Bebop is a mechanics-light game, and I prioritize momentum, tone, and narrative over strict rules enforcement. Players will also have opportunities to create their own roleplay scenes to spotlight their characters in ways that may not naturally arise during a session.
Homebrew rules
The mechanics and rules of Cowboy Bebop are very lite so occasionally I may have to make a ruling to cover something that is not fully fleshed out in the official rules. Any such change like this will be for the purposes of keeping the game and narrative flowing smoothly.

How Bill - The Final Frontiersmen creates a safe table
We will have a Session 0 to finish our characters, set expectations and to go over key elements of the system. A consent checklist will be sent to each player to fill out before the first session. An Open Door policy is kept at all times so players do not feel trapped or overwhelmed if they feel triggered. We will take at least one 15-minute break at the midpoint of the session. Additional breaks may be had if needed and depending on circumstances. Stars and Wishes will be used for players to provide feedback of what is and isn't working for them in the campaign.
