About the adventure

The Sword Coast is restless. Caravans vanish along forest roads. Old ruins stir with new danger. Small frontier towns cling to survival as rumors spread of monsters on the move and powers stirring beneath the surface. At first, it feels like ordinary work. Escort a wagon. Clear a road. Deal with a local problem for local coin. But nothing here is isolated. Each contract reveals another piece of a growing disturbance. Creatures are no longer where they should be. Factions are acting out of fear. Something is pushing the region toward chaos, and the deeper you travel, the clearer it becomes that the trouble you are facing was set in motion long before you arrived. Sword Coast Adventures Mercenaries and Mayhem is a story driven campaign built around discovery, consequence, and earned heroism. The world responds to your decisions. Problems grow if ignored. Victories change the balance of power. Allies remember you, and enemies do not forget. This campaign blends classic Dungeons and Dragons adventure with a grounded, cinematic tone. Exploration feels purposeful. Combat is dangerous and meaningful. You begin as hired adventurers looking for work. You may end as the reason the Sword Coast survives what comes next. No prior experience required. Just bring a character ready to step into a living world and see what happens when small jobs turn into legends.

About me

For the past five years, I’ve been building and running worlds where every choice matters, every NPC has a secret, and every session feels like an episode worth remembering. My games blend the comedy and camaraderie of NADDPOD, the cinematic storytelling of Dimension 20, and the emotional depth of Critical Role — creating experiences that balance heart, humor, and high-stakes heroics. I love crafting homebrew worlds filled with mystery, politics, and myth — but I also bring that same immersive energy to published adventures, giving them new life through dynamic narration, roleplay-driven choices, and custom lore tailored to your party. Whether you’re chasing dragons, uncovering conspiracies, or just trying to survive a tavern brawl gone wrong, I’ll make sure every moment feels alive and unforgettable. Outside of rolling dice, I’m constantly studying what makes great storytelling work — from cinematic pacing to character arcs — and I bring that mindset to every campaign I run. My goal? To make your session feel like your favorite episode of a long-running fantasy series: funny, emotional, and epic in all the right places. If you love character-driven stories, immersive worlds, and a DM who can laugh with you while still pulling your heartstrings then pull up a chair, grab your preferred snack and beverage, and join the table!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created before the first session. I am available to answer any questions and make sure everyone is comfortable and has their character ready. Backstories should be written before session 1 as well.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a D&D Beyond account, and a Discord Account. A decent mic, headset and computer are also required. Other than that there is nothing players need to bring with them to session.

What Pharoah brings to the table

I bring to the table the complete collection on D&D Beyond which gives the players in my campaigns access to all of that content. Foundry VTT a powerful software with dynamic lighting and special effects capabilities.

Homebrew rules

Potions: It is a bonus action to swig a potion. Critical Hits: Critical hits cause the damage on the dice to be doubled instead of rolling extra dice. Critical failures and Critical Successes: If a roll results in a natural 1, it is considered a failure. On the other hand, if the roll is a natural 20, it is always a success and may also have additional benefits, which are determined by me. Death Saves: Death saving throws are done privately. Stealth Outside Combat: Players make (Dexterity) Stealth rolls only when someone is in a position to see them or look for them. Investigation Checks For Traps: When searching for traps, the person checking will roll a check once and continue to use that result until a trap is found in order to avoid constantly rolling.
