About the adventure
Lavender hues push out the sky's lingering sunset as you're jolted awake! You're in a rowboat that batters against the glittering sand of the shores around you. A splash of saltwater coats you all as a vague memory pops into your mind. You recall a swirling orange mist overtaking your previous ship, followed by weightless darkness. Now, waves are lapping the unfamiliar shore around you, as you find yourself disoriented and clearly having escaped that ship with the people around you as each of you sit in this rowboat, having made it safely to shore. The sun is setting and the shore is littered by barrels, crates, sails, masts, and half-rotted planks. Half a dozen ships have seemingly crashed upon this rocky cove enclosing this shore. The air itself crackles with a sense of purpose, pulling all of your eyes towards something at the edge of the jungle ahead, a dark lamp-post carrying a deep teal light within. Before any of you even have the chance to speak or react to this sudden awakening, a voice emanates within all of your heads. "Oh sea, oh earth, oh flame, and oh sky, what a true day of luck. Please be true and just mortals blessed with souls worthy; For I am Renova, the Phoenix Eternal, and I have longed for mortal arrivals upon my stolen home. A vile fiend holds my child beneath the island's lantern-lit temple. I humbly seek your aid. Others have hiked up ahead just two hours prior, please, if you may, join their pursuit and free my precious child."

Meet the Game Master
About me
As somebody who is learning to teach history, I've spent a lot of time studying how to breathe life into stories. Stories can unite, inspire, and let us dream bigger, while also examining the realities and fantasies of the world around us. Eight years ago, I dove into my first campaign; since then, I’ve run years-long virtual campaigns, as well as hefty Westmarches servers, play-by-post campaigns, and countless one-shots across D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Shadowdark RPG, Index Card RPG, Nimble RPG, and more. I’ve spent years crafting worlds, maps, battles, characters, magic items, villains, and hard hitting climaxes contrasted by chaotic moments of laughter between. It has always been my ambition to bring a truly cinematic and immersive experience to Tabletop Roleplaying, and as such, I seek to design experiences unlike any other. My improv and theater background infuses each game with genuine roleplay depth, making sure every cliffhanger, boss fight, and emotional reveal is intended with heart. If you crave an unforgettable, premium TTRPG experience, welcome home! I seek to turn my passions for stories, friendships, and narrative experiences into a sustainable side gig where I can truly apply the skills that are strongest in me. I work hard, build robust systems to organize my my life and work, and strive to elevate tabletop roleplaying for us all!

Creating your character
For character creation, you will be able to choose between the following pregen sheets: Warrior Archetypes -The Champion (Guardian / Spiritist / Weaponmaster) -The Reaver (Darkblade / Entropist / Fury) -The Tempest (Commander / Elementalist / Sharpshooter) Mystic Archetypes -The Sage (Elementalist / Loremaster / Entropist) -The Dawnbringer (Spiritist / Chanter / Loremaster) -The Oracle (Entropist / Symbolist / Orator) Specialist Archetypes -The Mechanist (Tinkerer / Sharpshooter / Rogue) -The Shadow (Rogue / Orator / Wayfarer) -The Ward (Chimerist / Guardian / Spiritist) Support Archetypes -The Herald (Commander / Orator / Spiritist) -The Idol (Chanter / Arcanist / Dancer) The Artist (Symbolist / Loremaster / Tinkerer) Once you have picked an archetype, you can choose between the masculine and feminine versions of their tokens. You will then fill out the character's bio information, such as traits and bonds. You will already be set up with skills, attributes, and equipment.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a microphone, webcams are optional but I will be using one in the discord server to enhance immersion. You will also need access to discord and a web browser to play Foundry VTT. If you wanted to play around with character creation, I would recommend checking out the website "Fultimator" which can be found here: https://fultimator-backup.web.app/ You will not need to read the rules ahead of time as this is a comprehensive tutorial one-shot specifically designed to teach the game to people who have no clue how it works. However, if you would like additional insight into the game system itself, I recommend the video I made titled "What if Square Enix Made D&D - A Compressive Fabula Ultima Guide"
What GM Ven brings to the table
I have a fully set up Foundry VTT server running through Molten Hosting. The game is set up with 12 pregen characters using the base 15 classes as well as classes from the High Fantasy Atlas. The bios of these characters will be left blank for you to explore and express yourself. I used a fantasy sprite character creator to make each of the character sprites by hand. We will discuss how the party knows each other and found themselves on a ship together before becoming castaways. There will be ambient jrpg music playing throughout the session (and open to suggestions if you have a favorite soundtrack). The one-shot I have prepared is extensive in how it introduces mechanics one-by-one. You start off the game in combat with giant coral crabs who are attacking a helpless creature but before even jumping into combat, I have read-aloud tutorials prepared to teach you everything you need to know. There is also an rpg style quests menu that also will walk you through the processes involved. I also have a Youtube Video that I've made overviewing the system for anybody unfamiliar.

Safety
How GM Ven creates a safe table
We will discuss Lines and Veils prior to the start of the session, and I will make a master list of all the things that are no-goes for players, and share that list at the start of the session. We will also debrief to discuss things you liked and didn't like, but if you'd rather do that in private messages, that's totally an option too
