About the adventure
The Shivering Frontier For two years, the sun has not risen over the Spine of the World. Driven by the whims of Auril the Frostmaiden, a supernatural winter has locked the Ten Towns in a cycle of isolation, dwindling resources, and desperate sacrifices. In this frozen wasteland, survival is not just a goal. It is a daily struggle against the elements, the darkness, and the secrets buried deep beneath the shifting glaciers. This campaign is a survival horror sandbox designed for players who love high stakes exploration and atmospheric roleplay. While the core of the game is Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, we will lean heavily into the survival aspect where managing your supplies, navigating whiteout blizzards, and making moral compromises are just as important as your combat prowess. The tone is somber and gritty, inspired by classics like The Thing and At the Mountains of Madness. Who Is This Game For? The Explorers: Those who want to map the uncharted tundra and discover ancient, forgotten ruins. The Strategists: Players who enjoy a challenge where resource management and environmental hazards matter. The Roleplayers: Characters in this game are more than just stat blocks. They are survivors with dark secrets that will come back to haunt them as the frost bites deeper. As your DM, I prioritize a narrative first approach supported by tactical combat. I love creating a sense of dread, but I also ensure there are moments of warmth and levity to be found in a shared campfire or a crowded tavern in Bryn Shander. We will use a few house rules to enhance the cold weather survival mechanics. This ensures that every choice you make, from which path to take to how you use your last torch, feels meaningful.

About me
"Never let truth get in the way of a good story." I love fun. And roleplaying games. And pie. And horror! I'm a professional DM, TV producer, artist & writer in my regular career. The one thing I do well is storytelling in all its forms. I love horror & using it as a tool for creating fun. I'm a disabled vet and a professional storyteller for TV shows (Producer). Roll20 and Discord are my favorite replacements for in-person gaming. I live on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, so that makes in person gaming impossible these days, so I invested a ton in improving my Virtual DM game & excel at it. I am one of the best Professional DMs you will ever encounter. I live in the Azores, Portugal on Sao Miguel island. It's the Hawaii of Europe and an awesome place to live. I reside here with my family, chickens, dogs and cats.

What Sad Potato brings to the table
In my games, I focus on total immersion to bring the frozen North to life. You won't just hear about a blizzard; you will see the snow drift across your screen and hear the wind howl through your speakers. I utilize high quality isometric maps and animated figures to give our tactical encounters a sense of depth and weight. To keep the mystery alive, expect a steady stream of physical and digital handouts, from cryptic letters to ancient maps, that you can investigate alongside your fellow survivors. I am a firm believer in the Rule of Cool. If you have a creative, cinematic idea that pushes the boundaries of the rules, I will almost always look for a way to say "yes, and" to make it happen. While the world is harsh and the survival mechanics are real, your ingenuity should always be your greatest asset. I also lean heavily into character voices and curated ambient soundscapes to ensure that every NPC you meet feels like a distinct person with their own history and motives. What You Can Expect Total Atmosphere: Every session features custom music, weather effects, and ambient noises tailored to the current location. Visual Clarity: Isometric maps provide a unique perspective on combat, making every 5 foot step feel more tactical. Heavy Roleplay: I prioritize deep character interactions and provide a safe space for players to inhabit their roles fully. Dynamic Puzzles: Challenges that require both player logic and character skills to solve. My goal is to create a living, breathing world where the environment is as much a character as the villains you face. We will balance the gritty reality of a winter apocalypse with the epic, heroic moments that make Dungeons and Dragons memorable.
Homebrew rules
I use some BG3 like House rules, potions are bonus actions, Bards get inspirations on short rest, no alignment, Druids can become Owlbears etc.
