About the adventure
Long before kingdoms rose and fell, Chult was a sacred land shaped by divine hands. foremost among them, Ubtao, the God of Dinosaurs, jungles, mazes, and primal life. But nothing lasts forever. As mortal hearts grew selfish, warring, and proud, the vessels of Uptao became corrupted or lost. Ubtao, heartbroken and weary, withdrew from the world. Now, as the Death Curse spreads across the world, its root in Chult begins to unravel more than just life and death. The land’s spiritual harmony is unraveling. Across the jungle, there are signs. Earthquakes in regions long still. Hordes of undead among flora and fauna. Tremors deep in the rain-soaked ground. Nightmares among the jungle-born tribes; visions of monstrous shadows in the canopy, or titanic eyes opening in the dark. The Death Curse is spreading, and time is running out. No resurrection magic works anymore - and those previously brought back from the dead are slowly withering, their souls slipping away once again. Despite the efforts of the best mages, and the best clerics, the epidemic is widespread and only seems to be growing by the day. Whispers echo throughout the realm that the possible source of the curse lies somewhere deep within a mysterious island, filled to the brim with strange hulking creatures whose roars shatter eardrums, ancient ruins of civilizations long past, deadly man-eating plants, legions of monstrous undead, and of treasure beyond the wildest imagination for those brave enough to explore. An island called Chult.

About me
Just a regular guy that just so happens to enjoy tabletops! Basic information about me is that I'm currently in my early 20s, from the US. My beginnings with tabletops games are humble, having been introduced to it by friends in school. Character creation goes by, and with it comes growing pains. No person is an expert the first go around as they say, but as the sessions came and went, my intrigue, my attention, and my passion only grew. Years later, and I'm proud to have played in several campaigns of different systems and settings, and even prouder to have hosted several more of my own! Now I doubt you're only reading this simply to hear introductions. If you're anything like me, you enjoy the story, the intrigue, the connections, but most of all, you love rolling shiny little rocks! There's always something satisfying about creating characters tailored specifically for whichever world you find yourself indulging in. Be it the classic fantasy, with knights and wizards going up against threats such as monsters to reality eating gods! Space operas where personalities of all kinds from different species come together as a crew, battling out against pirates and smugglers across the stars! To even the modern day, where the ordinary are exposed to the extraordinary, finding long lost secrets and affecting the world through their decisions! As a GM, my role is to simply be a creator. I create worlds, I create situations, I create opportunities. But to all that may play under me, you are the storyteller. You have the power to change fate, defy destiny, to create your own endings. A story where I serve to take your ideas and weave them into the setting, to tweak and shape the threads until you find yourself invested. To have you care about what comes next, to feel triumph during your victories, to grieve at defeats. To pay attention to your surroundings, note every word a person says. Like the old adage goes... Don't give the GM any ideas~

Creating your character
Character creation will be handled individually with each player after they are accepted to the table. I will reach out directly either through the website or preferably through Discord. Relevant material will be provided, and we will discuss player preferences, concepts, and ideas to ensure each character fits both the player and the campaign. The campaign will use milestone leveling, with characters starting at level 2. Ability scores will be generated by rolling three separate spreads within a defined minimum and maximum total value, then selecting one of those spreads. Character options, including races, will be expanded through approved homebrew content. A session zero will be held with the full group to discuss expectations, tone, and boundaries for the campaign. Available homebrew, active mechanics, and new content players may encounter will be covered, along with potential connections between player characters or ties to the setting.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players are expected to have a functioning microphone. A webcam is appreciated but not required. A Discord account and a Foundry account are required to participate in the campaign. Use of D&D Beyond and the Beyond20 extension is optional but supported. Players may bring premade characters if they wish. Any premade characters will be adjusted as needed to match the campaign starting level, available options, and setting specific considerations. I am open to working with players to help convert or refine existing characters so they fit smoothly into the campaign.
What Christian brings to the table
Players are welcome to send images to be used for character token creation. All NPCs will have their own dedicated tokens. The virtual tabletop will be run through Foundry, with maps prepared in advance. Music will be provided during sessions, and requests can be made through Discord. The campaign will make use of official Wizards of the Coast modules, along with supplementary material such as The Tortle Package and selected DMs Guild content. This includes expanded mechanics, additional races and creatures, and homebrew systems such as harvesting. If using D&D Beyond, I can share the contents of my current collection to provide additional options during character creation.
Homebrew rules
Additional creatures, items, and animal taming mechanics drawn from sources such as Dr. Drohlin’s Dictionary of Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs and Raiders, and Kovaud’s Kaiju Guidebook. Expanded harvesting and crafting through the use of rules from the Creatures Harvest Index. Additional races and equipment from Player's Compendium to Teotlalli. Drinking a potion as a bonus action, using a full action for maximum effect. Flanking rules. On a first failure of Death Saving Throws, a character is rendered unconscious until recovered. Following this, the character gains levels of exhaustion equal to the number of times the damage taken exceeded their total hit points.

How Christian creates a safe table
Session zero will serve as an opportunity for players to meet one another and establish group dynamics. It will be used to discuss content boundaries, including what players are excited to explore and what should be avoided, as well as to set expectations for the table before the campaign begins.
