About the adventure

Baldur’s Gate is a pressure cooker of refugees, corruption, and hidden cults, and something far worse is moving beneath it. You’ll start in the city’s rot and desperation, then chase the truth all the way down into Avernus, where devils bargain, souls burn, and the Blood War never stops. This is a full campaign designed to take characters from level 1 to 13, mixing investigation, faction drama, brutal choices, and cinematic set pieces. My GM style is fast moving and player led. I tailor the tone to the table, whether you want grim heroics with hope, or darker, nastier infernal horror, but the core stays the same: your choices matter, consequences stick, and the world reacts. If you like high fantasy with a dark edge, moral dilemmas, and the thrill of outsmarting monsters that can talk back, you’ll fit right in.

About me

I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons since I was 10, starting back in the AD&D 2.5 era, and I’ve played every edition since with the exception of 4th edition, we can forget about that one. I currently run campaigns in both classic 5e (2014) and the revised 5e rules (2024), so whether you want the familiar feel or the newest updates, I’ve got you covered. I’ve been DMing for around a decade and I focus on clear pacing, fair spotlight, and sessions that feel like you made real progress. One of my groups has been running for almost six years with near-weekly sessions consistency and long-term story are where I shine.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation uses D&D 5th Edition (2024) rules. You’ll start at Level 1, using Standard Array or Point Buy for stats. I’ll provide a clear list of the core books you can use for classes, species (races), backgrounds, feats, and subclasses, so everyone’s building from the same pool. For those new to D&D ping me and i can guide in advance of the first session on how to create a character so you come armed with a little bit of knowledge. Session 1 will be used to iron out characters, connect backstories, weave in how you know each other, and launch the party into the epic journey together.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We’ll be using Fantasy Grounds as the VTT and Discord for voice and video. I’ll send you the Discord invite, the Fantasy Grounds connection details, and any files you need ahead of Session 1 so you can test everything and hit the ground running.

What Craig brings to the table

In this game I’ll provide everything you need to play smoothly, including access to all the core books required for character options. You can expect a cinematic experience with strong pacing, clear rulings, and shared spotlight, supported by Fantasy Grounds maps and handouts. I also enjoy the odd epic voice, use visual images to help you picture key scenes and NPCs, and bring in music for tense moments to dial up the atmosphere when it counts.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion as a bonus action but mostly rules as written with a sprinkle of rule of cool when it works.
